To Navy Navy Navy
November 2, 2004 - Vietnam Veteran's Vindication Day!
That slogan really picked me up and this event could almost be, as important as when the Vietnam Memorial Wall went up and we could start to unleash the emotions pent inside for so many, many years. In defeating jfk, we have told this Country, "We are not baby killers and we did not commit attrocities" as the left wing portrayed us then and some what even today. And if certain events unfold, thanks to a person on this site evolve, we will have Total Vindication. _________________ Terry Boone PCF 90

Terry, I just filled out my absentee ballot, today.
As I carefully colored in the little oval, I prayed that there were millions more like me who we haven't heard from in the polls or on the boards. Veterans and family members of veterans and active duty who are called to vote maybe even for the first time - for the restoration of the image of the American soldier.
Millions who are going to make a stand with you, rejecting the slander of our Vietnam soldiers by the way that they vote.
November 2nd is already Veteran's Day, this year, so I hesitate to use that slogan, because I don't want to seem to take anything away from vets from other eras.
But it has been swashing around in my head since I heard the comment from some soldier that, "Defeating John Kerry would be like the homecoming parade we never had."
So, I'll use it here and there.
See it, believe it, claim it. We can make it happen. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Well I guess I am lucky to be unemployed right now. I have time to read all the posts and keep the housework done.
Anyone need housework help in the Clark County area of NEVADA please pm me I could use the money.
PS.. I don't blame the government for my not being employed. I wasn't working for them. _________________ "The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I’m here to help." Ronald Reagan |

Try swiffer sheets on the bottoms of your shoes and shuffle around
a lot. At least the floor is fairly clean in a line between my 'puter,
coffee pot, and bathroom. _________________ Tin Can Sailor |

I hate to tell you guys this, but the work begins when we win this election, it doesn't end then. Thinking it will be over after we win is how victories are squandered. We don't want to win the war only to end up losing the peace.
Cleanliness is over-rated anyway; the only things you need to keep clean are your minds, your hearts, and your weapons. Everything else is trivial. |

This is another of those messages that I've posted that will get lost at the end of a thread, and few will see it. But I'd just say that I agree. The Swifties have announced they'll closeup after Kerry's defeat in a couple of weeks. But I hope they don't.
First, you have all the vets, themselves, who have been able to get together on these boards. I hope this is maintained for years.
Second, the questions about Kerry will remain. They will involve the entire Kennedy machine, because he has been Kerry's sponsor since the VVAW days. They will involve the snarky side of the Dem Party, the one which so repulses Zell. These will all be ongoing issues.
Third, there's the history. And in this, maybe even Hoffman and Lonsdale may not come out smelling so sweet. But I hope they see the need for it. Vietnam seems to have been a case where officers lost sight of the war far more than the troops in the field - who have been the ones Hollywood singled out for 'special treatment', probably due in large part literally to Kerry's Fulbright Committee testimony, VVAW and similar. If command decisions were a bit sloppy, if 'body counts' or 'bulk counts' were encouraged to the point of exaggeration or fabrication, if medals were hurried to the front even if it played into the schemes of an operator like Kerry, then all that needs to be examined in order to separate the mistakes from the heroism, and the Hollywood/leftist establishment 'spin' from what really happened. |
