My daughter says I can find a John Wayne movie on every time I get hold to the clicker...or at least a poker game. We turn off so many of the newer hollywood types. Sad but I have trouble even with the Turner Classic channel because of the connection - however vague- to Hanoi Jane.

I have a real problem with any one who says they are a Christian and votes Democratic.... (like carter).... so I hope no one is offended....
I'm very anti abortion .... and think a woman DOES HAVE A CHOICE.... she can choose to have sex outside of marriage and risk pregnancy or not.... she can choose to keep a baby or put it up for adoption etc....

I've started a list of opposing actors/singers, but as I said before my memory fails me.... so far I've only got about 10 !!!! help me....

even if it ends up only about 10% of the country (there are 40 M evangelical christians - I didn't know that!) start stopping to go to these movies, renting them, buying DVDs etc, it'll hurt 'em !

I'd add Darryl Worley (singer of "Have You Forgotten" to your list. He's a great country singer, a conservative, and friends with Sean Hannity. I'd probably venture to say Martina McBride could also be added to your list.

"USAFE5" in his tag line has an awesome Trace Adkins song quote "I don't know what you've been told but there ain't no virgins here" Trace Adkins-from his song Welcome to Hell written for the 911 terrorists.

Pretty much all of the country singers are on board. Its a good thing, I wouldn't want to mess with Trace Adkins or Darryl Worley, both are about 6'6" and big ol' boys!

I had the opportunity to meet Brad Paisley and hang out with him for a while, and he is very, very conservative and religious. He's a great guy!

Actually, Ron Silver is mostly a Democrat on social issues and has been quite an activist over the years for liberal causes (mostly WRT First Ammendment issues, I believe)--He was one of the original founders of The Creative Coalition along with such creeps as Alec Baldwin and Susan Sarandon--But he's behind the President on security and the WOT 100% and isn't at all shy about letting it be known and, in some ways, I respect him even more because of it--

I guess I'm the odd one out, but I'm a little more selective about the celebs that I've sworn-off--I'm perfectly willing to acknowledge the right of anyone else, including celebrities, to support a different POV than my own and to campaign for the candidate of their choice, even if it's someone I despise--This is, after all, America--I've just lost all patience with those who find it necessary to bash and trash and be disrespectful--I've seen and heard guys like Ben Afflek and Tony Shalhoub voice their oppinions and do it respectully in the course of civilized political discourse and I had no problem with it at all--And frankly, I don't have any problem with Brad Pitt supporting sKerry so long as he can manage to keep a civil tone about it--

It's when an idiot like Julia Roberts (most of whose movies I've really liked) gets up and makes an insipid statement like "In the dictionary, the word 'republican' comes just after 'reptile' and just before 'repulsive'" or Johm Mellencamp (whose music I've loved for about 30 years) resorts to referring to the POTUS as a "thug" or when nasty, angry clowns like Ed Asner, Mike Farrell or Martin Sheen say just about anything at all that they never get another dollar of my money or moment of my time--I try to be reasonable, but I do have limits, after all--C

Can we put together a list of the Hollywood celebrities who support Kerry and develop a film boycott list?

I know this would be a major sacrifice for many moviegoers who may like, for example, Matt Damon's films but dislike his political views.

Still, boycotts work. If enough Americans pledge to boycott films in which pro-Kerry, pro-defeatist wing of the Democratic Party candidates appear, that could have an impact.

We need to take back our country from the America-bashers and the defeatist wing of the Democratic Party!

I am so glad that that conservative list at least had some length to it I was beginning to think I had to turn off the tv and the radio. But...it looks like I will have to become a fan of country music to listen for for very long

I love the older movies, even those with the more liberal actors like Kate. The stories were great and the dialogue was fantastic back then. Many movies today rely upon images with a soundtrack playing in the background. While music plays, we are shown the characters getting aquainted, shopping, eating out, etc., to me this is just the easy out from having to write dialoge. Still, there are some good movies today such as Lord of the Rings, Seabiscuit, and the Pixar movies. Actors have a right to voice their opinion and I have a right to ignore them. My only problem is that they have a much better platform and easy media access to use their 1st Amendment rights. While crying about free speech, the Hollywood left tries to silence any conservative actor in their ranks. There are a slew of tv shows this year that have subtely inserted anti-Republican comments into their shows and I am getting fed up with this tactic. I find that I watch less tv all the time and I only saw two movies this summer.
I'll never forget when I went to see "Comes a horseman" in highschool. My Dad was mad that I would see a Jane Fonda movie. At the time, I just loved horses and had no real clue about Traitor Jane. Now, I understand why my Dad was so upset. I refused to pay to see Pearl Harbor because of who they got to play the American Heroes (especially Alec Baldwin). This is what bothers me the most, these actors bash America and then make money playing American heroes. They make their money off of hard working Americans and call Americans stupid (ala Johnny Depp). They decry the rich, when they make obscene amounts of money for a days worth of work. They cry about gun violence, gas guzzling sport utes, and then make movies with tons of violence and lots of explosions that are a waste of gasoline. I'm amazed that these Hollywood folks don't see the hipocracy (sp?).
I am glad to see some celebrities are working for America. Don't forget Toby Keith and his shows. And I heard a great interview with Gary Sinise about his work with Iraqi school children. This morning on Laura Ingraham, she had a Hollywood direct with socially liberal views, who backed GWB and his handling of the War on Terror. I still believe most Americans, Dems and Repubs love this country. Unfortunately for the Dems, the far left has hijacked their party.
