Just found this at Power Line. It's more in line with what's going on in Michigan, I think. Unfortunately.

Would That It Were True
Real Clear Politics notes this Detroit News poll that shows President Bush with a four-point lead in Michigan, 47% to 43%. The poll, of 400 likely voters, has a five-point margin of error.
If Bush carries Michigan, the election is over. But this poll is too far out of line with the other Michigan data to be credible. The only way I'll believe that Michigan is actually close is if the candidates start spending time there. The striking fact about the current poll data is how close they are to the 2000 results. After four years, we seem to have returned almost exactly to where we started. More about this later.

Another factor in Michigan is the unemployment rate keeps
climbing, unlike the rest of the country where the recovery
is taking hold. New unemployment numbers this morning show
another rise to 6.8%, far above the national average. Unfortunately,
our new Governor, the "star" Gennifer Granholm has done
nothing but create an atmosphere that does not encourage
new businesses to locate in our State.
A typical Liberal, she is raising taxes on everything, and delayed
tax cut that was supposed to take effect this year.

Just a reminder to any posters who may so be inclined: what ever the polls say, please remember that in 2000 George Bush lost a commanding lead over Algore the weekend before the election because of a massive get out the vote drive by the Democrats. There is nothing illegal or constitutionally wrong about getting out the vote, and quite frankly, the Democrats were just much better and much more organized than we were.

Fortunately, we have learned a few things since then, and George Bush could use YOUR help in the "get out the vote" effort in your local area. Please consider going to georgewbush.com and look at opportunities to make a difference in this election. Calling or visiting your local Rep hdqtrs will also work.

We must counter the massive planned fraud, the Michael Moore hatriotism, and the attempted coup takeover of our govt by the extreme left wing. We need a massive grass root effort get out the vote effort of our own. No special experience is needed, just a willingness to help.

Let's turn our frustration into positive action and pound the pavement and work the phones for the President. Let's help get even for the guys and gals who live only in our memory, and whose names are carved into a slab of cold marble in a monument that remembers their deaths, but not their heroism.

We owe these pukes one for them, our heroes of a war they were reviled for. Let's send the Kerry traitor home in defeat! PLEASE volunteer today!

George Bush in 2004 because we remember John Kerry in 1971!

Bush took a hit the last weekend before the 2000 election because Gore campaign was pushing the story of Bush's DUI...(along with stories about L Bush when she was 16 and about the Bush twins) Remember? They found the state trooper who had arrested GW..etc..and were parading him around MSM.
