Well, a bit of a mis-labeling of the event, given the statement by the organizer, but I sure do commend Mr. Don Ruggles for his efforts and hope Ken and Andy have a GREAT day....

Area veterans are invited to attend a support rally for President George Bush and the American troops serving in Iraq at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Korean-Vietnam Memorial on State Line Avenue.

The day is a day to also recognize war veterans, family members of Missing in Action veterans, Purple Heart recipients, disabled American veterans, POWs and Gold Star mothers who have lost their sons in Korea, said Don Ruggles, who is helping to coordinate the rally.

Ken Cordier and Andy Horne, who are POWs and members of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, will be the main speakers.

Swift Boat Veterans for Truth is the group that has publicly criticized Sen. John Kerry and his stance on war.

"This is not affiliated with George Bush or the Republican campaign, this is strictly for veterans who want their voices heard concerning the candidate John Kerry," said Ruggles.

"The rally is in support of fighting troops all over the world."
