A good read from Mark Steyn:

"The American people don't want to be condescended to by ketchup heiresses,

billionaire currency speculators, $20-million-a-picture Hollywood pretty

boys, and multi-millionaire documentary-makers posing as

bluecollar lardbutts.

The Democrats keep talking to people as if they're like John

Edwards's 40-year mill-workers, but that's not what work is any

more, and a 23-year-old hairdresser can know enough about starting

and running a business to be unimpressed at a few footling tax credits

dangled in front of her by a 60-year-old lifelong "public servant" lucky

enough to be living a grand old life thanks to his

billionaire wife's first husband."

I really like Mark. He speaks pretty good English too, for an Englishman.

Steyn--a man after my own heart! He used a descriptive word for Skerry I picked up on 'way back in the Primary debates. Even if he proposed changes with which I competely agreed, I would not have voted for him. Why? His condescending manner of speech. He seemed to convey the message of 'look here, this is the way it should be, dummy, so let me explain it to you since I know you don't get it.' And then Tuh-ray-zuh opened up her mouth and confirmed it. _________________ No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

				Bystander,

I've always described Kerry as 'arrogant' but you're right

'condescending' is the right description.

Like in the second debate, when he looked around at the

audience and said he was sure no one there earns more

than $200,000. Classic!!!

Nose in the air, looking down on the "little people" in front

of a national audence! |
