Amen to that.

The BC'04 Chairman has called on the Kerry campaign to release a tape of the hatefest against Bush, last week - even promising that it will use none of the tape in campaign ads.

From everything I've heard and seen, it looks like a bunch of real buffoons and clowns talking about stuff they don't understand. Even Kerry himself can't be bothered to get briefings on the terror situation - what makes these loudmouths from Hollyweird think they know something more than the rest of us know?

And Kerry says that they are the "heart and soul" of America? What a load!

I can tell you that Whoopi Goldberg and Chevy Chase and Meryl Streep don't speak for me - "heart and soul" of America, my butt.

SlimFast is catching hell for having Whoopi Goldberg as a spokesperson, now.

Good ol' American capitalism at its best - don't want to support a particular ideology? Don't buy products that fund it and fuel it.

You know for all the bluster on this thread, I've not seen any really critical analysis of the content of the film.
Anyone care to take on the content of the film?
You can get some more info here:
www.michaelmoore.com
Any decent god loving conservative should be able to take on what this film purports to be facts. Not just some half-baked blather about Moore supporting arabs. yawn...

LewWaters wrote:
Move America Foward has a free downloadable flyer on their site addressing this piece of trash masquerading as a movie. It is in Adobe PDF format, but here is a copy of what it says, if any don't use Adobe;

MICHAEL MOORE IS NOT TELLING YOU THE WHOLE TRUTH

If you have recently seen Michael Moore's film Fahrenheit 9/11, there's a lot you haven't been told. If you are interested in learning more about the man behind the message, his deceptive tactics, and what he really thinks of average Americans like you, read on.

Michael Moore is a master manipulator and a very creative filmmaker, two things that do not often translate into truthful documentaries. With this film he is actively courting the general public to his radical socialist message. Before you accept what you've seen as the truth, we urge you to do some research and see if what you find matches what you were told in Fahrenheit 9/11. Whether you are Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, you owe it to yourself to learn about Michael Moore's agenda, his beliefs, and the type of man he is. Consider both sides and make up your own mind.

IS FAHRENHEIT 9/11 FACTUALLY ACCURATE?

• Moore claims that President Bush arranged special flights to get the bin Laden family out of America. The truth is that former Terrorism Czar and Bush Administration critic Richard Clarke has stated that the decision was his and his alone, and the 9/11 Commission supports this claim.

????
So who made the decision Bush? Can you see how this is extremely poorly worded? Low marks for English.

Quote:

• Moore claims that the only reason the US invaded Afghanistan was to build a pipeline. As of this writing the pipeline still has not been built, and there are no plans for one. Space prevents us from listing more of the many gross lies, half-truths, and distortions in this film.

Wrong. Moore claims that Cheney/Halliburton met with Taliban officials to discuss building a pipeline through Afghanistan. The suggestion is that this did have something to do with the war. HE DOES NOT SAY or even suggest that this is the sole reason for an invasion of Afghanistan. I can think of several great reasons why the admin. would invade Afghanistan that don't involve terrorism. Geopolitical location... next to all the hotspots, proximity to a great oil market (China)... etc.

Quote:

MICHAEL MOORE HATES THE MILITARY

In Fahrenheit 9/11 Moore goes to great pains to paint himself as an ardent admirer of the men and women serving in the military, but the truth is remarkably different.

Admirer? That wasn't my impression from the film. Sympathizer maybe... but admirer? I get the feeling whoever wrote this didn't see the film. So the writer of this suggests he "hates" the military?

Quote:

•A Describing terrorists in Iraq: "The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not 'insurgents' or 'terrorists' or 'The Enemy.' They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win."

• B Calling for the deaths of American soldiers: "I'm sorry, but the majority of Americans supported this war once it began and, sadly, that majority must now sacrifice their children until enough blood has been let that maybe -- just maybe – God and the Iraqi people will forgive us in the end."

A. That's what they are... revolutionaries. Sorry that's an accurate description. The US is an invading force. Like or not that is how they are percieved by the rest of the world and within Iraq. It's only our own propaganda that would convince us otherwise. Iraq did nothing to the US. That is what preemption is all about. Hitler convinced his population that invading the rest of the world was in their interest too. You might argue that we are "liberators" (making them into liberals?). Then you would have a lot of work dismantling all the brutal dictatorships in the world, if that were your justifiying rationale.

Part B is laughable. Yeah people supported it WHEN IT BEGAN... lol. They wanted success for their country and troops. Doesn't mean they thought the war was a good idea!

Quote:

MICHAEL MOORE HATES BUSINESS

Do you own a small business? Do you work for one? You might be interested to hear what Moore thinks of your contribution to America. On small businesses in Flint, Michigan: "You know in my town the small businesses that everyone wanted to protect? They were the people that supported all the right-wing groups. They were the Republicans in the town, they were in the Kiwanas, the Chamber of Commerce - people that kept the town all white. The small hardware salesman, the small clothing store salespersons . . . F___ all these small businesses - f___ 'em all! Bring in the chains! The small businesspeople are the rednecks that run the town and suppress the people. F___ 'em all. That's how I feel."

Has nothing to do with the movie 911. Moore simply points out that the poor are fighting for the interests of the rich. Because the poor are ignorant, they can be taken advantage of. Which brings us to the next stupid point:

Quote:

DOES MICHAEL MOORE THINK YOU'RE STUPID?

Moore has two different messages. In America, he plays the role of "hero of the common man." When in other countries, however, he debases and insults the very common Americans that he claims to represent.

• To German fans Moore asked, "Should such an ignorant people [Americans] lead the world?"

• When a Japanese interviewer remarked that Moore did not appear to like America very much, his response was, "I like America to some extent."

• In England, regarding American intelligence: "They are possibly the dumbest people on the planet."

• Moore seemed relieved to not be around his fellow Americans while in Canada: "Just for my own mental health, I need to go and sit in a room with 600 Canadians and watch this movie with them."

Are these the opinions of a man who respects you enough to tell you the unvarnished truth, or is he manipulating you in order to make money?

Moore could make lots of money in numerous other ways. I don't think he would give himself so much hassle to suffer....
He didn't even invest his money from Roger and me his first award winning feature film documentary. And so what? Are you saying that an American can't make money?! I don't complain about Steven Spielburg exploiting the tradegy of the holocaust when he profits from Shindler's List.
Again... those of you thinking somewhat critically about anything...NONE of these criticisms are about the film!
Nor are the authors points clearly showing any innaccuracies!

Quote:

MOORE MANIPULATES VICTIMS

Moore held a screening of Bowling for Columbine in Littleton and charged admission the families of the victims.

• Columbine victim mother Anne Hechter: "It's laughable that Moore attempts to portray himself as an anti-establishment liberal who is the voice of the common folk, when in fact he is no better than the greedy capitalists he shuns. Maybe now that he has made millions of dollars off the blood of our children he could toss a DVD or two our way to view."

• Mark Taylor, one of the victims that Moore took to K-Mart headquarters, on Moore: "I am completely against him. He screwed me over. I had no idea what Moore's agenda was. And he had an agenda. He had it all planned out, completely. I believe that every American has the right to have a gun. We should have the right to protect ourselves."

Wow! Disgruntled people!

You'll recall that this post started off:
Quote:
MICHAEL MOORE IS NOT TELLING YOU THE WHOLE TRUTH

Still looking for something that was factually incorrect from 911. Most people probably can't be bother to think that hard. If you want to believe what is written in this piece of tripe, then you won't see any inconsistencies. However, please don't claim to have any concept of what the truth is if you are actively ignoring it.

Okay here we go. The TRUTH!

Michael Moore is a media darling. The chances are that you have never heard any of the facts listed in this flyer. This is because the vast majority of the people in the major media agree with Moore's viewpoints and will do virtually nothing to challenge him. There are, however, numerous online resources where you can find out all of Moore's dirty secrets. The website address below contains links to get you started, as well as providing the sources for every fact presented in this flyer. Fahrenheit 9/11 ends with Moore telling you to "Do Something." We think that is excellent advice..

PLENTY of people have taken on this piece of trash and debunked it for the pack of lies that it is.

The most thorough one that I know of is by Mike Kopel :
http://www.davekopel.com/Terror/Fiftysix-Deceits-in-Fahrenheit-911.htm

He's up to 59 deceits since he first started writing the page - it's no longer 56. Wink

Maybe because he doesn't have standing as a plaintiff.

That doesn't mean he's wrong, or Mikey's right, you know.

Ignorant, too?

Being taken advantage of? By the rish?

Help me out here! Are they ignorant because they are poor or are they poor because they are ignorant?

Are all poor people ignorant? Or just not as smart as you think you are?

Was that you, Jeremy, that said something about a stupid point? Wink

Not all of us are fools to actually go and pay for a propaganda movie against a sitting president.

But I do know that Richard Clarke has stated over and over again that it was HE and only Richard Clarke who allowed the bin Laden family to leave US soil....not what the movie claims and that the buck did stop with him on that decision - President Bush was not informed...but then again my concern was how this movie was going to play overseas in the Arab countries where are men and women are serving and how the terrorist would exploit this MOVIE for their own desperate attempts to bring this country to it's knees!

Michael Moore was not concerned about the men and women who are serving this great country. I am proud to be a vet and proud to be an American and I am not going to let anyone make me feel any differently, especially the likes of Michael Moore.

This movie may be big in the liberal cities of LA, NYC, Miami...but in the smaller cities where people still take stand when the flag comes by, when the men still take off their hats at the ballgames and where people do know the words to the national athem....it will not play well at all.

There are some of us who knows what it means to have served this country and realize the blood, sweat and tears that our service men and women make on a daily basis. I probably would just blown this movie off if it had not been called a documentary...the fact that Michael Moore distorted the facts to fit his needs...which Michael Moore has stated over and over that his goal it to get President Bush out of office. But I have not heard this disclaimer at the beginning or the end of the movie.

I do see the disclaimer of swiftvets who goals is to make sure that John "F" Kerry is not elected as our CIC.

A quick comment on your post this afternoon re: Slim Fast and Whoopi.
I just read on BK's Top 10 Weasels site that Slim Fast has fired Whoopi and she will no longer appear in their TV ads.

Wishful thinking. Read what Iraqis (not Al Jezeerah) are saying and writing. It's not all pro-USA, but it's a heck of a lot better than you'd like to believe. The "revolutionaries" are all in the Interim Government...the "insurgents" (better than they deserve) are fighting to:

1. put the Baathists back in power, or

2. destroy the stability of the new government.

At best, they should be called "counter-revolutionaries."

Personal experience or personal opinion? Moore is saying that Capitalism is evil -- big business in Roger and Me, small business in his speech. It's what you'd expect a socialist (if not Leninist) to say.

Unofficial transcript of F911

Posted in 3 parts on this site - Some dedicated person deserves kudos for doing this –
I read on another site that someone took a tape recorder to the film, and then transcribed it. I only skimmed through so far. Good resource to have for the discussions/ debunking without spending the $$ to see it. I have a nephew that raves about Moore and is going to se it this weekend, although I tried to explain some of the lies & distortions we’re already aware of, having the transcript will be a good weapon in my next ‘conversation’ with him.

Go to the main page, scroll down the leftside, about halfway down to

Kate,

Sometimes, depending on how the file is set up, you can right click on a link and then click "Save Target As," to save a wmx or avi or that type of file to your computer. In this case, though, the webmaster has got it set up to download the playlist, not the whole movie. I watched a few minutes of it and it was pretty boring. The first faulty conclusion comes not five minutes after the movie starts.

There are other places on the internet where you can download the movie and I have about half of it saved via WinMX.

Michael Moore has already said publicly that he doesn't mind people downloading his movie from the internet and sharing it, so it's not even illegal - by his own words, he ceded parts of his copyright to the public, though he did say that he didn't want people to download it and then charge to show it - he doesn't want anyone profiting from his work. Can't blame him for that. Wink See: http://www.sundayherald.com/43167 and http://moorewatch.com/index.php/weblog/comments/714/ for Moore's comments on copyright laws.

If the download never gets accomplished, I'll just go to the metroplex and buy a ticket for something fun and see F911 instead. I will not contribute a red cent to Michael Moore's Twinkie habit. (Not that he'll miss my $12, but I'll feel better about it. Wink )

Vegas Casino Boots Linda Ronstadt
Jul 19, 2:17 PM EST

The Associated Press

LAS VEGAS -- Singer Linda Ronstadt not only got booed, she got the boot after lauding filmmaker Michael Moore and his new movie, "Fahrenheit 9/11," during a performance at the Aladdin hotel-casino.

Before singing "Desperado" for an encore Saturday night, the 58-year-old rocker called Moore a "great American patriot" and "someone who is spreading the truth." She also encouraged everybody to see the documentary about President Bush.

Ronstadt's comments drew loud boos and some of the 4,500 people in attendance stormed out of the theater.

People also tore down concert posters and tossed cocktails into the air.

"It was a very ugly scene," Aladdin President Bill Timmins told The Associated Press. "She praised him and all of a sudden all bedlam broke loose."

Timmins, who is British and was watching the show, decided Ronstadt had to go — for good. Timmins said he didn't allow Ronstadt back in her luxury suite and she was escorted off the property.

Ronstadt's antics "spoiled a wonderful evening for our guests and we had to do something about it," Timmins said.

Timmins said it was the first time he sent a performer packing.

"As long as I'm here, she's not going to play," Timmins said.

Ronstadt had been booked to play the Aladdin for only one show.

Calls to Ronstadt's manager were not immediately returned.

In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal before the show, Ronstadt said "I keep hoping that if I'm annoying enough to them, they won't hire me back."

Looks like she got her wish.

The only ones that went to see it is the liberals anyway, and we know how they will vote. Moore was a big flop with his pack of lies.
