I like Joe, and I'd vote for him in a primary if he ever lasted that long (I'm from California AND a registered demoncrat, so I guess I'm doubly damned, but it doesn't matter since CA only ratifies the choices of the rest of the country). BTW I voted for Bush both times.
But Joe needs to stay where he is. I saw him on Fox News the other day talking about a group of centrist senators he is forming up to try to guide discussions more toward the center. He just might be the ONLY Democrat to understand that their only chance it to run from the center.
Joe as SecDef? Puhleeeze. Great guy, probably among the most honest of all congress critters, but he just doesn't have what it takes to be a good SecDef. That is not a criticism of the guy. It's just a fact I suspect he would recognize.
I hope Rummy is strong enough to last another four years. This war on terror won't be won quickly or easily. It CAN'T be won with vacillation or "understanding."
BTW, Hellfire, what does that Latin in your signature block mean? Have pity on this poor victim of California's public education system. Hay, why is evrybodi lafing? Californya haz skulz. _________________ DLI 78
