A couple of dots that may connect

I stood watch over Minutemen III missile sites from 3/76 thru 7/79. The 90th MSS had 200 silos in a three state area including NE Colorado, SW Nebraska, and SE Wyoming. We were based out of F.E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne WY.

July 1976 security briefing. We were told, be on your toes as you are on patrol out in the missile wing. The rumor is that some Native American activists might try and pick off a couple of you in protest of America celebrating its 200th birthday. I wonder how much Mr. Churchill had to do with that briefing.

I would not be surprised. I still remember when the Indian activists took over Alcatraz Island, in San Francisco Bay, remember that? That was pretty extreme for the time.

Very interesting, I do not recall that event. Perhaps it is another dot and Mr. Churchill had something to do with that event.

Here's a link about the Alcatraz occupation. They had a lot of support at first, but it faded away after a while and they got kicked off. This was in 1969.

Yes I do vaguely remember this now. This happened about the same time Teddy Kennedy took Mary Jo for a swim she never recovered from.
