Russian bombers flew undetected across Arctic - AF commander
MOSCOW, April 22 (RIA Novosti) - Russian military planes flew undetected through the U.S. zone of the Arctic Ocean to Canada during recent military exercises, a senior Air Force commander said Saturday.

The commander of the country's long-range strategic bombers, Lieutenant General Igor Khvorov, said the U.S. Air Force is now investigating why its military was unable to detect the Russian bombers.

"They were unable to detect the planes either with radars or visually," he said.

How did this happen? One guess. It's Canada! Liberals in charge.

I think you're right Terry.
I'll bet someone has some explaining to do now though.

Excuse me this is a russian saying we couldn't see them?? If we told them we couldn't maybe it was to make them think we can't (hide face behind hands - now you can't see me type stuff)

First, what are the odds that the Russians would risk a military confrontation by flying into monitored airspace without first asking permission? Not very likely.

Second, what are the odds that the Russians would call the USAF and say, "Hey, we were there. Did you see us?" even if they were nowhere near our airspace. Possible, given Russian humor. (I am married to a Russian, by the way)

Third, if the Russians did ask the question, what are the odds that the USAF would say, "We didn't see you. Maybe we should check our equipment" while rolling their eyes? Very likely.

Read the clip again......it says the Russian bombers flew undetected through the US zone of the Arctic Ocean.

When did it become Canadian responsibilty to detect Russia bombers crossing US space?

Also Conservatives currently head the government in Canada not Liberals.

Uh, the Conservatives have only been in control a few weeks, hardly time enough to straighten out any messes there left over by the Liberals, who also are spread throughout the lower levels of government there and in the US as well.

Sorry folks, but I think I smell a RAT, When I was on the DEW line in the late 60's there was no way they intruded near any part of this
country, without being seen.

NO WAY-NO TIME!!!

Actually when they were a part of the USSR they did it with amazing frequency. As did we.

For example:

We still do it as we speak. It is interesting to see what gets turned on and where it is located.

They were tracked from takeoff to landing and we just don't want them to know how.

Seems to me that the mission the USS Maddox was on in August of 1964 was the Navy's equivalent tatic. Cool
