Now we have our National Anthem translated into spanish with altered lyrics and a rap delivery in a section of it.
How much indignity will the American people put up with before we run these people who are here illegaly out of our country?

If they can't be bothered to apply for admission through legal channels then what other illegal activities will they engage in?
We DON'T need them nearly as much as they need us.

The communists are behind these foolish antics and this is NOT the late 60's early 70's

Hopefully, most people have learned when the masses march on nothing of merit we are at the 'age of Aquarius' and the people should be viewed as the loons they are.

This caused me to think of something prescient Hoffer wrote. Think of what he is writing in terms of yesterdays communist led ‘putty’ against the war and todays communist led ‘putty’ against the war and for open border and all else which would hurt our country.

Both are an attempt to take away our Nation.

Hoffer writes in his diary February 12, 1975 6:45 A.M,

In 1964 a considerable segment of the student population was made up of eighteen-year-olds who were born in 1946 and were the products of a permissive upbringing. They were putty in the hands of any two-bit manipulator.

I happened to be in Berkeley in 1964 when the first wave of the new generation hit the campus of the University of California. President Clark Kerr had made me a professor-it was my first taste of getting paid for doing nothing-and I had a room on the eighth floor of Barrows Hall, where I held open house one afternoon a week. So I was right in the midst of the mess when the Free Speech Movement exploded in 1964.

The spark which set off the explosion was the discovery made by the students that the power structure of the university was manned by toothless lions. President Clark Kerr, one of the finest products of our culture, knew how to build a great university but did not know how to defend it. He had not an inkling of the vulnerability of institutions-that they are more vulnerable than individuals-and did not know the first thing about the nature of authority. I cannot resist the feeling that things might have turned out differently had President Kerr had a taste for theorizing. He might have known that authority is an instrument for the repression of individual willfulness and that social authority had its origin in the need to tame juveniles as they came out from underneath parental authority. Instead, President Kerr dealt with the rampaging juveniles as if they were his equals, and a punk like Mario Savio, the leader of the Free Speech Movement, ran circles around the great Clark Kerr. Much of the teaching at the University of California was done by teaching assistants not much older than the students. Monkeys with academic degrees opened all the cages and let the tigers out into the street.

I remember how one afternoon, as I stood on the eighth-floor balcony of Barrows Hall and watched swinish punks lay low the proud institution of the University of California, there flashed before my mind’s eye an event of long ago. On the evening of November 16, 1532, the swineherd Francisco Pizarro pulled down the Inca Atahualpa from his proud litter and in scarcely three hours the most powerful state of pre-Columbian America was broken forever.

The people who want, and are fit, to live in a free society cultivate patience, and make of compromise a holy cause. The militants who clamor for freedom most of the time want power-power to retaliate. The means for establishing freedom are altogether different from the means of attaining power.

To William James the most crucial habit of an effective democracy is “a fierce and merciless resentment towards every man or set of men who break the public peace.”

Good post GenrXr.
The communists and others seeking to sway public opinion use an age old fact of human nature to spread their propaganda and gain control of the masses.
They well understand that human nature seeks and longs for the 'the easy way' in life. And they know that doing the things necessary to hold onto Freedom and personal liberty are hard. It takes preseverance, patience, sacrifice and hard work by each member of a society to keep a free nation free. It needs all those things to occur to keep America America. A melting pot in which all cultures come together as one under one flag for one common purpose.
So they are exploiting that facet of human nature against us to divide us.
They well know that if America becomes a nation of many pots not melting together into one, America will no longer be a cohesive nation that can bring a national strength to bear on international problems. Witness the spectacle of our divisivness on the war on terror.
Immediatly after 9/11 our nation was of one voice but it didn't take long for the Commiecrats to begin to erode that common ground with their poisonous ideals and lies.
And they are using the immigrant issues in the same way against us. Divide and conquer is a viable and workable concept and we are seeing it being played out in front of our very eyes.
As it stands right now, I'd have to say they are winning.

In memory of the late Issac Asimov (1920-1992) and
to celebrate the defining moment that said that the United States of America was a nation and was going to remain one.

ALL FOUR STANZAS

The Star Spangled Banner (in English)

Oh! say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?

And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
Oh! say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen thro' the mist of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep.
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?

Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream
'Tis the star-spangled banner. Oh! long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footstep's pollution.

No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation,
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the Heav'n - rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserved us a nation.

Then conquer we must, for our cause is just,
And this be our motto--"In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

more on their anthem -- yet another version in the works???

NY Post
Quote:
JOSE, CAN YOU SEE

April 30, 2006 -- The original star-spangled banner - the mammoth U.S. flag that flew over Baltimore's Fort McHenry - survived 25 hours of fierce British bombardment on Sept. 13-14, 1814. No doubt the national anthem which that event inspired will survive the latest assault on its standing.

British music producer Adam Kidron on Friday released a Spanish-language version of the anthem, featuring pop singers and rappers. He says it's meant as an ode to immigrants.

Actually, the music is pretty snappy. And the lyrics by and large faithfully follow the original. So far, so good.

But another remix is due out soon - a decidedly uglier version.

It contains several lines in English that bitterly condemn U.S. immigration laws: "These kids have no parents, 'cause of all these mean laws," runs one line. Another: "Let's not start a war with all these hard workers, they can't help where they were born."

And so, lo and behold, the supposed ode to immigrants turns out to be little more than a propaganda anthem in the battle to legalize illegal immigrants.

Even without the political message, however, a Spanish-language rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner is problematic. As President Bush said Friday: "I think people who want to be citizens of this country ought to learn English and ought to learn to sing the national anthem in English."

For earlier generations of immigrants, assimilation into American society began with learning English. And make no mistake: Assimilation has sustained both the nation and the immigrants who have prospered here.

That doesn't mean totally abandoning one's native heritage, of course. But realizing the American dream is about more than taking advantage of better living standards and higher wages: It's about choosing to become part of a very unique, very special society.

So, by all means, read the national anthem in Spanish, if it helps in understanding the original's inspiring poetry.

But sing it in English.

They can't possibly think this will improve public opinion.

~sending off even more letters to Senators, Reps, Congressional leaders - for whatever good it does~

Quote:
Theodore Roosevelt on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag.. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Theodore Roosevelt 1907
