If circumstances warrant, Drudge removes the story completely from his site.

The headlines at Drudge can change by the hour, depending upon what's going on.

Human Events is still running it:

Though no information on the source of the cover change has been found, the latest tactic from the pro-Kerry crowd -- whether from a computer hacker or an employee of Barnes & Noble or anyone else -- can hardly be considered surprising.

Didn't the river boat guys wear BDU?

Full time river guys, those of us that spent all our time on rivers, wore BDUs full time. That's not to say the swiftees didn't serve honorably but until Nov of 68 they were largely engaged in coastal interdiction. There was, I believe, more a traditional fleet feel to the Swiftees.

Zummie, IMHO made a big mistake in putting them in the songs and dhongs (rivers and canals). Not because of the largely honorable men but because of the capabilities of the boats.

Does anyone run NASCAR machines on Formula 1 courses? Not if they have a brain imho!

Please, do not take this as derogation of honorable Swiftees. It took more balls to do songs and dhongs without armor than it did on my boats; ASPBs

And here's a link to the rest of the story. Instapundit has it so the whole blogsphere has it. Way to go Mudder.

Reports are that it was an inside job at B&N and probably the same at Amazon.

Being a bird farm sailor, I guess it's just me, but why are these guys in the pic on page one of this thread wearing medals on their dugarees??? Was that normal for Swiftees?? Maybe just a pic for Mom?? We got wrote up for not wearing a tee shirt in the gulf with ours. Of course Enterprise was CTF 77's Flagship too.

Photo taken immediately after award ceremony with VADM Elmo Zumwalt in An Thoi, Vietnam on March 06, 69. Kerry and his Band of Brothers. 6 medals for 6 people. This for a small firefight where no one was wounded and no boat damage was incurred. Simply amazing.

An event fabricated as to it's it's intensity by one John Fng Kerry that occurred on 28 Feb 69. The purple heart he's wearing is for a separate action either on 20 Feb 69 or on 02 Dec 68.

Here's what I sent to Amazon; I'm afraid I made a couple assumptions, but I believe I'm correct in my assertions:

Your Editorial Comment by John McCain on Unfit For Command is undoubtedly the most unethical thing I've ever seen you do, and I'm a long-time customer. John McCain did not say what you posted, he was talking about the 30-second ad (not the book), and he hasn't even read the book!!! You had better give me a good explanation for this or me, my wife and about 1600 registered users at SwiftBoat Vets Forum won't be doing business with you anymore. You should know that you have pissed off one hell of a lot of vets, especially us that have good reason to hate Kerry for what he did to us. What you did is DESPICABLE and we demand an explanation! Awaiting your reply - Walt Jones (USMC, '65 - '69)
