As an acclaimed war hero how do you feel about besmerching the honor of those others who served with valor? I think you ought to feel ashamed. By the way you were my first choice in 2000.

I new when Sen. McCain used those two words to describe us, ( dishonest and dishonorable ) they would use it again and again against us. He won`t issue an apology to us but I hope he has the courage to at least give them a public rebuke for using it since he now knows he attacked the wrong people. _________________

Sisku,
You said:

Oh they totally get it.
They are just hoping the American public either is too stupid or too uninformed not to get the truth that Bush had absolutely nothing to do with the ad, nor can he legally request the ad be removed under McCain-Feingold.
|
I hang out quite a bit at DU (**) and lurk. I also spend some time investigating the Kerry sites. With respect, I think you are wrong. They are so blinded by their hate for the President (you can see it in the tenor of their posts...even the rational ones), that I sincerely believe that they really think you are linked to the GOP!
This of course is an extremely serious stategetic error on their part. _________________ -Polaris

I really want to see factcheck.org do a number on this ad.
There are a very large number of extremely false statements in the ad and they do not attack the substance of the SBVT ad.
This ad is really good news. It will keep SBVT & UFC in the news. _________________ Whose side is John Kerry really on? Take this quiz and decide for yourself.

Polaris,
The stupidity that is rampant on DU continues to amaze me. Michael Moore had that bunch of Americans pegged.
One of them put togther an "ad" about lying -- photos of Bush, Cheney, Rice, and Rumsfeld, each with statements they made about WMD and the caption "He lied" (or "She lied").
Needless to say, there was no photo of Kerry with any of the several similar statements he made.
They're also still yapping about the "forged" uranium documents that Joe Wilson used as "evidence" that Iraq hadn't tried to buy uranium. Never mind that the 9/11 commission concluded otherwise and Joe Wilson has been exposed as a liar.
Sheeple (and that's giving sheep, which I like, a very bad name). |

"Beldar" is already on top of this with an interesting insight on his Blog.
Quote: | New ad from MoveOn.org PAC urges President to violate campaign finance laws
26 U.S.C.A. § 527(e)(5)(D) provides in pertinent part:
Quote: | The term "qualified State or local political organization" shall not include any organization otherwise described in subparagraph (A) if a candidate for nomination or election to Federal elective public office or an individual who holds such office —
(i) controls or materially participates in the direction of the organization .... |
I venture into this territory with considerable hesitation, for I'm neither a tax lawyer nor an expert in the recent campaign finance "reform" laws. But I believe this to be the subsection of the Internal Revenue Code that would destroy the SwiftVets' status as a so-called "527 organization" if Dubya were to comply with the demand made at the conclusion of a new TV ad that apparently is about to be aired by a competing — and vastly better financed — 527 organization, MoveOn.org PAC.

People,
Don't underestimate those folks at DU. They are cunning, clever, and yes smart (in their own way) political operators, and they are often hellishly well informed. [I strongly suspect that they have connections with the inner councils of the DNC, but I can't prove it.]
The thing that gets them though is this: They sincerely believe that they are warriors for the TRUTH....and never mind if a few inconvient facts get in the way (which can after all be altered or spun).

integritycounts,
I agree with Beldar's conclusion to his recent post: MoveOn's ad has done worse (for them and the Democrats) than that; they've guaranteed that the Mainstream Media will now have to look at the Swiftvets' ad and John O'Neill's book.
Because the MSM know that, while they can ignore a 527 like Swiftvets, if they ignore George Soros' pet tarantula, they'll get bitten. _________________ Bye bye, Boston Straggler! |

Speaking of those liberal 527 organizations which the mainstream media has "ignored," I came across this list of the top contributors to various 527 organizations ( including the moveon.org ). Guess what, it appears that top contributors are liberal operatives who had funneled MILLIONS of dollars in various anti-family, anti-religion left wing organizations. Sorry if this list had been posted before, but obviously, the mainstream media had decided to attack even the 25 dollar contributions made to this site by hard working Americans as part of the republican conspiracy. It is thus imperative that for the sake of the future of this country, that Kerry must not be elected; as the evidence clearly shows that the ideology and resournces that support these organizations will be indoctrinated into Kerry's politicies.

I forgot to include the third individual on the list. Behold! It is HANOI FONDA!
Fonda, Jane
Fonda is the top individual contributor by far to 527 committees, outspending the second-place individual by more than $10 million. The two-time Oscar winning actress, daughter of actor Henry Fonda, became involved in the anti-Vietnam War movement in the late 1960s. Later, she conceived a highly successful line of exercise videos, and she married and subsequently divorced media mogul Ted Turner, founder of CNN. She is a major supporter of abortion rights organizations and was the sole funder of the 527 committee, Pro-Choice Vote.

It would never occur to anyone that people like George Soros and Jane Fonda are trying to buy the government, now would it?

Polaris, I also waffle back and forth from thinking the left is dumb as cat sh!t, or cunning like a fox. Then I recently heard someone say that such blinding rage as they have cannot coexist with rational thought. I think that's true.
The DNC and the Kerry camp are a different matter. They are cunning and angry enough to still have their wits about them - very dangerous.
And now a relevant quote from one of my new "heros", Hugh Hewitt, who is doing so much to support the Swiftees:
"There is no greater sign of a powerful message than its denunciation by the opposing side."
Moveon.org, we got the power! |
