Kerry and friends openly and loudly "booed" returning veterans. Why is is improper for veterans to openly and loudly "boo" him? If vets are too classy for such a display, perhaps a simple "hiss" wouldn't be too politically incorrect. _________________ '58 Airedale HMR(L)-261 VMO-2 |

Jack,
Perhaps, but continuing acts of disrepect for veterans (as well as our current POTUS) don't seem to garner any sympathy.
Put on the gloves, the "sympathy vote" won't work.

In his book, The New Soldier, Kerry mocked the VFW and such groups:
We will not readily join the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars—in fact, we will find it hard to join anything at all and when we do, we will demand relevancy such as other organizations have recently been unable to provide.
We will not take solace from the creation of monuments or the naming of parks after a select few of the thousands of dead Americans and Vietnamese. We will not uphold traditions which decorously memorialize that which was base and grim. It is from these things the New Soldier is asking America to turn. |

Jette,
VERY interesting, as I believe Kerry is listed as a member!

I am certain if SOG, Cowboy or myself were being interviewed by Chris Matthews and he treated us the way he treated John O`Neill there would have been blood in the studio. But John O`Neill handled in such a way he walked out the clear winner. That is why John is the sheriff and we`re the deputies. |

Jack,
On that, I'd have to agree 100% - about the blood AND O'Neill being a class act.
The VFW is a different sort of venue... Kerry surrounded by all those vets he maligned.
It's "MAKE A STATEMENT THAT CAN'T BE IGNORED" time.
(uhm... non-violent of course)

Did anyone see the Washington Times piece this morning?
"VFW recalls Kerry's Anti War Past"
Looks like Kerry's actions are "seared - seared" in their memories! |

Everyone who attends should wear a Hanoi Jane mask so that kerry feels welcomed. _________________ kerry returned to the United States on July 22, 1971, held a press conference publicly calling on President Nixon... for the surrender of the United States to North Vietnam. |

I watched the live thread of Kerry's speech on Free Republic. Kerry showed up about forty minutes late. According to the Freepers watching the speech, Kerry got a few boos and some heckling.
Not bad. Next time, I suggest throwing rotten fruit and vegetables. |
