Try sending Polaris a polite PM requesting the link. He just said he wouldn't "post" it here...which is probably the right move.

Kerry’s Soviet Rhetoric
The Vietnam-era antiwar movement got its spin from the Kremlin.

By Ion Mihai Pacepa

On April 12, 1971, Kerry told the U.S. Congress that American soldiers claimed to him that they had, "raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned on the power, cut off limbs, blew up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan."

As a spy chief and a general in the former Soviet satellite of Romania, I produced the very same vitriol Kerry repeated to the U.S. Congress almost word for word and planted it in leftist movements throughout Europe. KGB chairman Yuri Andropov managed our anti-Vietnam War operation. He often bragged about having damaged the U.S. foreign-policy consensus, poisoned domestic debate in the U.S., and built a credibility gap between America and European public opinion through our disinformation operations. Vietnam was, he once told me, "our most significant success."

The full article should be required reading for every US citizen.
Kerry was a dupe - lead by the nose by Hanoi Jane.

Thats my take and I am sticking with it.

Aye, Ion Mihai Pacepa was Romanias National Security Director and this has been discussed at length on previous threads. Most people here on the boards are aware the Vietnam protests were funded by the Soviets and other communists. But thanks for bumping the thought for the newbies.

I wish we could get more information from Russia on their contributions during the 60's but alas Putin is an old time KGB hard liner and not willing to let that info out. We will eventually find out the totality of their efforts though. And I am definately glad to be a conservative for the day when that comes out.

Is it possible to research some of the 'leftist movements in Europe' and see if we can find 'almost word for word' what Kerry testified to in Congress?

This has to have a paper trail.

Jeeze, if we could find a single instance where "not seen since the likes of Ghengis Khan" is in print ............ whew!
