Glad to know I'm not the only one...defragmented the HD thinking that might help. Get more bandwidth because I'm sure it'll be needed. _________________ kerry returned to the United States on July 22, 1971, held a press conference publicly calling on President Nixon... for the surrender of the United States to North Vietnam. |

I wonder how many of Kerry's visitors are Trolls trying to cause trouble. I doubt there are very many, certainly not the barrage that swiftvets gets. I guess we should be honored that the Trolls think this site is that important! _________________ "And no pair has been more wrong, more loudly, more often, than the two Senators from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry"

Chuck,
Oh count on it. We are hated right now by the Kerry/Edwards crowd and especially DU...who is trying everything they can to discredit us. _________________ -Polaris

First off...DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE ALEXA BAR!!! It contains spyware and for those of you using Internet Explorer, it can cause some real privacy issues.
Second...I do think the site struggles sometimes when the "talent" of the organization is talking to various media types. I ran into the mysql error the other night and sent a note to the webhost letting them know. I also sent a note to the address listed in the domain name registration information about the possibility of having a mirror of the site setup somewhere. The forum would be difficult, if not impossible, to mirror but the static pages could be spread out a bit.
If the website is used for communication among the members then I STRONGLY recommend setting up another site strictly for strategic planning and talking. Obviously, that site would not be publicly available and encryption would be important.
There are all kinds of hacker types out there ranging the entire political spectrum. Many of these folks are "Hacktivists" meaning attacking websites they disagree with politically and I don't just mean US politics here.
I'm open to helping out with the discussion. Perhaps some sympathetic webhost with the resources would be interested in volunteering some space and bandwidth for the cause. Dunno. I would LOVE to but I know I can't deal with the bandwidth this site will draw as it heats up. _________________ *****************************************

More bandwidth and mirror sites won't help the forum. A database can only have so many ports open at once and this forum clearly maxes out at times, like today during the Rush Limbaugh show. In other words, we just have to put up with it unless you want your contributions to go towards setting up an operation the size of Yahoo! Personally, I'll put up with not being able to post sometimes, with the knowledge that newbees are being won over by my brilliant past posts, and that my $ contribution is going toward TV ads!
The caveat here is not to goof around too much on the forum because people are clearly reading it. I, myself, have had to be censored by the admin once and I've got to try to remember to leave the funny barbs for the football chatrooms. It behooves us all to have clear, serious, fair-minded discussions here. |

Sorry - Off topic - Is this current, Wayne?
I thought they had removed the spyware from the last version... but I could have it mixed up with some other spyware program. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~
