The more I research John Kerry, the more I realize what a turning point that period was in the character of our nation. Kerry fostered and participated in the idea of being suspicious of the gov’t, the military. He held up false charges against our soldiers and our gov’t. for the whole world to see and cast suspicion on the United States around the world. We live with that to this day. [The adacity, the treachery of meeting with the enemy while we were at war!]
When the SwiftVets stepped forward it was like they rose up out of history to remind us that honor counts, truth counts, and love of country matters and some things are worth dying for. That actions have consequences and people should be held to account. Something has happened to us in that we give a pass to things we know are wrong. A small band of soldiers has come forward to protect the nation from a dangerous man, and in exposing him, may also expose and debunk the radical movement that so damaged the souls of the populace and of the nation. Taking Kerry out can begin a much-needed healing for America and can only make us stronger.
I cannot understand nor penetrate the arrogance of those that cannot see the broadness of this mission -- that cannot grasp the importance of supporting the SBV -- I cannot see into the reasoning of those that feel threatened by honest, courageous men -- especially our own soldiers -- except that somehow it upsets their lives and that their vision is so narrow that that is all they can see. |

When I posted my own brief message of thank you, here, I suggested the same. But I think that perhaps they and others will have to publish more, and get some of this out on websites - the other side of the story. If there's no pressing reason, however . .
Because there is, now. And the best way is probably this way, now, thanks to Kerry. Because it seems important - potential CinC - the 'backgrounder' which is what we're really talking about is soaked up by necessity by the day and hour to get to the important analysis. It's more difficult, I think, if one is just curious about the era, and sees books and websites. It's this situation, the urgency, the feeling that one is part (in a tiny way) of a fight against Kerry and that part of the establishment, itselt, that perhaps makes 'learning fun'. |

I'm just wondering if talking about it on the net will be enough.
I would love to see everyone right of center come out of the woodwork in support of this site, but also in support of the "conservative" or "pro-american" movement that has been brewing for so long.
Wouldn't it be nice to take the reflecting pool back in Washington? It seems like the left has claimed that site for their own purposes. The last time I can remember it being used for something good was when MLK made his I have a dream speech. |

All the mainstream liberals of today consider the 60's as their crowning achievment, and now the poster child from that generation is poised to become President if only he can win. Unlike Clinton, Kerry really believes all the leftist ideology, and wouldn't it be something if a true 60's radical could become president. The circle would be complete and all their efforts would FINALLY come to fruition. |
My name is Aaron Greenwood. I served as a medic with the 173ed Airborne Brigade (separate) from February 1967 to February 1968. I was attached to E Troop 17th Cavalry until I came down with Malaria. After recovering in Cam Ranh Bay I served the rest of my tour with Brigade HHC.
I have been thinking the same thing about the Swift Boat Vets for Truth. They are the catalyst. The questions of Vietnam War have never been settled. Our culture has been hijacked. Until now the left and the mainstream media have been the gatekeepers making sure only their version of events is allowed to stand. We have a right to a say in our history no matter what they think. There is a Wall in Washington D.C. that gives us that right. They are our band of brothers.
John Kerry’s betrayal of the Vietnam Vet is on the record both in print and on film. He cannot deny his past. The SBVT have opened wounds that have never healed by are holding John Kerry accountable and that is very good indeed. No matter what the Democrats, John Kerry and the mainstream media has to say the events of over 30 years ago DO MATTER.
I cannot express the anger I felt when I saw the picture of an arrogant Kerry saluting the nation with the words “reporting for duty” acting like a hero in a Hollywood movie. Perhaps he was fantasizing himself a Patton or a Washington or a Caesar. This man, an officer in the United States Navy, who in time of war went before Congress and the world to promote his selfish ambitions at the expense of his beloved band of brothers. This man, this ugly man drew a picture of the Vietnam Vet as rapist, butcher and barbarian. Now this man who betrayed us all wants us to pretend he is a war hero and warrior.
Not much has changed. Abu Ghraib is used by the left to trash the American Soldier (meaning military men and women) in the same way that John Kerry and his kind used isolated events in Vietnam to trash the American Soldier and in the end slander all of us. They took the story of Vietnam and created shame and dishonor for all of us.
The Democrats and the left are doing the same today with the Abu Ghraib story. The left is obsessed with making the United States look bad. Kerry and his kind, the Washington Post, New York Times, and most of the mainstream media refuse to cover the war in any positive way. Abu Ghraib is the story not the fall of the Taliban and Saddam. On a daily basis they work to weaken us in the eyes of our own people and the world. They must not be allowed to win.
The following fits those who have the honor of being listed on the Wall not the cheap theatrics of John Kerry.
Quote: | "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. For he today that sheds his
blood with me, Shall be my brother; be ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle
his condition. And gentlemen in England now abed, Shall think themselves
accursed they were not here, And hold their manhood's cheap whiles any
speaks, That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day." |

I was a little kid during the Vietnam War, and for much of my life the claims that war crimes were widespread in Vietnam has gone completely unchallenged. I didn't even realize that I had been sold a big myth until the Swift Boat Vets for Truth came along. I had just never thought about it or researched it enough.
When the Abu Ghraib story broke, I felt like the whole community might turn against us and that all of the good work that my husband and others had done in Iraq might be in vain. It was probably 1/20th of what Vietnam Veterans and their families have gone through, but it was enough to make this history real for me.
Now tonight I hear on TV that the whole Weather Underground is out of jail and headed to New York for the convention. I go to the store and even the fashions are back to 60's and 70's stuff.
You nailed it! It's all coming back around, but we've got the internet this time. |
Almost everybody in this forum that was over there or off the coast were "little kids" then. We just had real uniforms, and got to play with real bombs and bullets.
I sure wasn't old enough to do anything about it ... I'll bet I was over forty before I would rationally argue the issues. It was way too late, then, to do anything about it.
THIS ONE's FOR MY KID --- he wasn't near Abu Graib, and he ain't responsible for that s*it, either!
THE SWIFTEES ARE LOOKING OUT FOR MY BOY.
Genuine, no-kidding, honest-to-God real live heroes with courage on display for anybody paying attention
Oh LORD! The Weathermen? Protesting the GOP (Bush)? Supporting Kerry by inference?
This is too good. My heart can't take it! |

Yes, I have a feeling this debate is about much more than the Swift Vets and John Kerry. Only time will tell.............. |
I might add that we're talking about a generation that formed the SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) who used terrorism to try and stop the Vietnam War.
They tried to rally hundreds of thousands of protestors to meet in Chicago for "The Night of Rage" and only about 200 showed up. But, they still ran through the streets of Chicago with bats and stones breaking windows of businesses and homes along the streets.
SDS is the same generation that bombed government buildings. They even had three of their own die when a bomb they were working on blew up in their faces. These were sick and violent Americans from the same generation as Kerry.
Kerry was condoning this kind of action when he spoke up about the war and called all Vietnam Veterans baby killers!! _________________ Watch Kerry Implode Because Of Truth!!

At the bottom of the page loated at: www.swiftvets.com/index.php it says:
"For more than thirty years, most Vietnam veterans kept silent as we were maligned as misfits, addicts, and baby killers. Now that a key creator of that poisonous image is seeking the Presidency we have resolved to end our silence. The time has come to set the record straight."
I am also noticing a familiar mantra by the mainstream media - ie, an agnostic conclusion - we cant know a conclusion. Why doesn't the mainstream media want it to come to a conclusion - because they were the main thrust behind Kerry and the anti-war protestors, using media tactics to making a small crowd look like thousands and making a relatively small movement appear to be a pandemic outcry of the majority - and characterized any opposers of the peace mvmt as "Archie Bunkers" - ie, narrow minded bigoted patriots! They are equally accountable for what happened to our veterans, our POW's and the widespread torture and slaughter of S. Vietnamese men, women and children. To bring this issue to a conclusion would not only indict Kerry, it would indict the mainstream media.
Today, we have the fair and balanced networks and talk shows that serves as the "New Eyes of America" - which MSMs and liberal left continuously attack - because they don't like to be accountable to anyone.
I'm not going to settle for anything less than a conclusion! _________________ Know the difference between Politics and Mesmeratics - one embraces, propagates and promotes the truth, while the other manipulates it! |

Reading Aaron's post and others brought tears to my eyes. I was six years when my cousin came home with a PH from Vietnam. I remember seeing him lying on his couch with his chest wrapped up, and he didn't want to talk much. He was the son of a proud WWII vet, and our whole family was so proud of him doing what was RIGHT. At least he had his family to welcome him home, unlike many vets out there.
I'm 41 now, and I realize once again why I homeschool our daughters, we're careful what we watch on TV & movies, and we teach our children to respect authority and love their God & country. It's good to know, at least in our little part of the world, we're doing the right thing. |

These are historic times. I am sure that Kerry is living in the past and
is committed to repeating it. If elected he will create another Vietnam like
exit. Then apologize to the French and his state of the union message will
mirror the 1971 Fulbright speech.
This way he can feel nostalgic about his life. |

Actually, I am beginning to see that had it not been for the war protestors, Jane Fonda and John Kerry, our valiant troops may have actually won the war. The war was lost on Main Street U.S.A. because the liberals sucked the blood out of our will to win. Exactly what John Kerry will do if elected. _________________ Nomorelies Make a donation HERE |
