Zell is from the old school Democrats before Humphrey, He is conservative a Reagen Democrat. If you compare his speech tonight to a fist fight Kerry would have been beat to death. Go Zell!!!

Dr John, I am glad that you said snot, if it was cr*p there wouldn't be anything left but clothes. And at 72 I am not sure that Zell has enough time left to kick that much cr*p. Semper Fi.

My favorite was when Zell told Matthews to "get out of my face" then he said he wished he could challenge him to a duel.

That was the best TV I've seen in years.

Very astute observation Peter. Marine4life, I think Zell being a marine has a lot to do with his passion tonight. As a whole the marines I have met who are much older then when they enlisted and seperated from the military are very much still engaged to their mission of protecting the country as defined by their code. This is not meant to disparage any other branch but rather over the years of observing family and friends I have noticed within my own circle of the world, marines at 50 and older ready, willing to go back onto the battlefield if asked. Unique in my opinion. They are the consumate warrior and Zell showed that Marine spirit tonight. Semper Fi as you call it.

All marines should be really proud tonight. Many democrats have wanted to rid the US of the marines for decades. And I for one as a citizen am glad our country has kept that great corp going!

This is a man with real courage, integrity and honesty. This must have been hard for him as he is still a democrat and says he will always be
one.

I am sure it has not been easy for him in the last while since he spoke out about the democratic party and how he felt about it.

When they say "stand up and be counted" he will always know he had
the courage to do so.
