Like MOST officers in the Army, Navy and Air Force, he was a Reserve Officer on Extended Active Duty (EAD) |

The reference to Kerry having prostate cancer is probably not of interest. Not only does it not have anything to do with his military service and dis-service, but prostate cancer is common in men over 60. As I understand, the only time prostate cancer is a concern in an older man is when it shows signs of spreading.

jimlarsen,
I mentioned Kerry's prostate cancer because he denied he was ill months after being diagnosed with it and because his having the disease (at least in my mind) increases the importance of seeing his medical records. Under these circumstances, I think voters have a right to full disclosure regarding his health. Didn't Paul Psongas (sp?) die from a cancer after telling everyone he was fine? John Kennedy concealed his Addison's disease which sometimes required him to take powerful narcotics. As someone else observed recently, Kerry's bringing the press with him on so many sporting activities (snowboarding, wind surfing) smacks of overcompensation.
If the board is restricted to an analysis of Kerry's military record, I have transgressed. I trust the moderator will take whatever action is appropriate. |
