No.
As I said earlier, The B-40 is another name for the RPG-2 launcher not the RPG-7 |

Chief,
I think the B-40 is a Chinese made version of the Soviet RPG-2. The main difference between the RPG-7 & the RPG-2/B-40 is the RPG-2/B-40 had a straight tube and an auxilliary gas vent port on the right side. This made it impossible to fire it left handed (on your left shoulder) - you would get blasted by the gas. The RPG-7 has a cone shaped rear section and no auxilliary vent so it could be fired from either side. I understand that the ammo was interchangeable between the two.
The RPG-2 was a Soviet design based on the original German Panzerfaust.
I will update you further as I learn more. _________________ "The price of freedom is eternal vigilence" - Thomas Jefferson

Actually Vickie, an RPG is a high velocity weapon, it's motor only burns for an instant at very high pressure to generate a bullet-like velocity. Very much like a recoilless rifle. _________________ "The price of freedom is eternal vigilence" - Thomas Jefferson

Chief, I found a good discussion thread about RPG's. You'll have to register on the discussion board to get there, but it is worth it.
Here is the link:

When you get to the forum, click on:
Ground Forces Discussion
Then on:
Pinned: Ground Forces Discussion reference page
Scroll down to:
Light Arms
and click on:
Type 69 RPG
The Type 69 is the Chinese version of the RPG-7. There is a load of RPG related stuff there. _________________ "The price of freedom is eternal vigilence" - Thomas Jefferson

Specifically, I need to know what effect a monsoon rain would have on a B-40 rocket.

You should also do a Google search using "B-40 Rocket". Google lists a number of sites detailing different incidents in which a B-40 was used in Vietnam. You will have to sift through the links dealing with Kerry, so go through several pages of links.
I don't recall which link it was, but when I when through then a few months ago, there was an interesting description of an incident in which a badly wounded NVA vainly atttemting to fire a B-40 at an APC that was bearing down on him. Compare that to the VC who ran away from Kerry.
If Kerry had had to face the NVA instead of the VC, I doubt that he would have returned. _________________ "That awful power, the public opinion of a nation, is created in America by a horde of ignorant, self-complacent simpletons who failed at ditching and shoe making and fetched up in journalism on their way to the poor house."
