OK, so this is apparently the new choice for the undecideds out there...vote for Kerry and associate yourself with those that threaten and use violence against our fellow law-abiding citizens on the streets of America....or vote for Bush and support those that would never riot against an America they love, but will continue to bring the violence to the Islamo-Fascists on their territory, not ours!

I did see part of the town hall meeting yesterday and like many other inflammatory coments this one doesn't get mainstream media attention so those of us on the internet learn about the comments....

Although no supporter of Kerry-Edwards I must say Edwards wife did make an excellent presentation with details... she seemed knowledgeable about the VA system ranking veterans to access health care and made several points that "some" returning veterans from Iraq will have to pay to gain access and the income limit that excludes non service connected veterans from receiving care, of course there is no one in the audience to counterpoint in fact many veterans were aghast at the facts she presented and agreed with her presentation...

Hopefully Lynn Chaney has been able to make similar compelling presentations and there is a dire need to respond to this town meeting...has Cspan given Bush - Cheny equal time for a town meeting??? And if yes where and when to have impact??

These people are incredible. I've asked this already but I'll ask it again. Do people really believe this CRAP?

You know if Edwards had promised the Fat Will Be Thin I might be tempted.. no, never mind..

Please read this carefully, otherwise you will probably get all mad at me.

I have a question for you wrt Veteran's health care benefits. My husband retired from the Navy with the rank of Captain. That is a decent retirement income. Every month. For life. I feel it is a fair deal, because with the education he had, quite frankly, he could have made much more as a civilian. He also routinely worked 70 hour weeks, and blahblahblah. So it's like retroactive pay.

Then he retired, and got a job making six figures in the civilian world. He subsequently left the corporate world, with full health care benefits from that.

Now he is a contractor, making six figures.

Do you think it is fair to ask him to pay some portion for his VA benefits, should he use them? I do. In fact, I think he should not be able to even use his VA benefits except as a last resort, which is how it works. I beleive that we have been fortunate in our opportunities (and the harder you work, the luckier you are) and I believe the benefits pool should be reserved for those truly in need.

I know that the VA system is second only to the IRS in terms of Machavellian rules and codes, so please understand I am not claiming to be an expert on particular issues.

My point is really only this: We are going to have to move beyond the "I deserve it because I was promised it" mentality, whether it be VA benefits or Social Security. The accumulated weight of holding that attitude is bankrupting the various benefits systems, and yet no one will say so because there is a visceral, knee jerk reaction anytime someone even suggests we may have to accept something less than cradle to grave government care. It is political suicide to even hint that those with the ability to take less from the system do so.

It is also distressing, when I go out and discuss the issues, to see how many *conservatives* are really only pro-life (or anti-Democrat) socialists-lite.

Social Security was NEVER intended to be the primary, and in many cases ONLY income for our seniors. Social Security was meant as a temporary, last gasp desparation stop gap for seniors who are unable to work and did not have families to help them. Now it is the Sacred Cow, and to even dare suggest young people be able to privatize some of THEIR income withholdings is blasphemous, according to most Americans, and the Democrats. The other point about SS was that it was devised at a time when life expectancy was about 60. So we have to change things, but no one is willing for EXACTLY the reasons typified by the reaction to the remarks made at the town hall meeting by Mrs. Edwards.

And unfortunately, the Republicans will now feel obligated to rush in and say, "Oh no,no, no! We are going to give you all MORE than they are! Vote for us!"

It is disgusting, dangerous and despicable on the part of BOTH parties. We have systems that MUST be kept in place to aid those in need, and these systems are in dire trouble. And no one is willing to tell the truth because the American people cannot seem to be able to stand the truth.

The Republicans have tried, to their credit, but the increasingly socialist American electorate punishes them when they do, and then the Democrats exploit it for personal gain. So nothing changes; the systems continue to degrade, we demand to be lied to by pandering politicians, and there ya go. Just, uh; I am 44 years old, and I am certainly not counting on Social Security to be there when I am 65.

As for the rioting remark: I think only someone living in a cave would be the only one to not understand that the Democrats are playing a dangerous game. They are advocating anarchy rather than accepting any further loss of their power. As I have said before, they are attempting to turn our grand experiment in democracy into a banana republic, albeit a prosperous banana republic. The Democrats have no desire to destroy the economy; there is so much more to rape and plunder in a prosperous country than a poor one, after all. George Soros has no use for Cuba; America, on the other hand, makes a nice meal for him.

They will preserve the economy, have no fear of that; it is only true democracy and independence they wish to destroy.

Dmack: If Edwards could do that... would Ms Edwards look like she does?

I wouldn't vote for them even if they could take all the calories out of cheesecake. I wouldn't vote for them even if they could come up with some other way to have a waistline that didn't include 100 ab crunches a day. I wouldn't even vote for them if they would come finish installing my kitchen sink, and believe me, I am pretty desparate about that!

Mrs. Edwards is wrong again. If Kerry & Edwards succeed in stealing this election through voter fraud and litigation, like they are already trying to do, and the will of the people is ignored, I say - LET THE REVOLUTION BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
