Uh, they LEGALLY can only vote in one place. However, in point of fact, there is nothing that prevents them from ACTUALLY voting in both places - either both by absentee, or by absentee in one and in person in the other. If they're registered in both places, the votes would be counted. Chances are pretty damn low of being caught without extensive investigation, since each state and/or county runs its own voter registration process and generally doesn't (as far as I know) coordinate them with anyone else.

However, if a few doing this were caught and very publicly prosecuted as an example, I think the incidence of such dual voting would drop dramatically.

The favorite bogus registration I heard about was when Mary Poppins registered to vote in Ohio. (They caught that one and determined it was indeed bogus.)

I saw this story this morning on Fox and they said that some of the duplicate registrants actually did vote in both states last election. That these are some of the SAME names as 4 years ago! The report also said that both a Democrat and Republican judge said that nothing is allowed to be done till after the election. They don't want to give the feeling of intimidation or prejudice to other voters. (No, let's not make sure our voting process is being followed legally to prevent another mess, till it's too late!)
Yeah right. Upon hearing that, how many of these people jumped up to give it a shot? If Mickey Mouse walks in to vote, I'm sure they'll let him!
