I give up. I don't even know why this has been moved to Geedunk. I guess that last sentence in the original posting was invisible:

It seems to me that ensuring Kerry has his come-uppance has everything to do with the SBV objectives. He's still a threat to our nation's security, but now that he's "just" a Senator, he's going to be harder to bring to the justice that he deserves. |

Yes, and Anker-Klanker's point is an important one: it's much easier to keep kicking someone when they're already down. By helping to shift the blame for losing the election onto Kerry, it makes it easier (in a strategic sense) for people to be open to seeing his other...faults.
