Look folks, let's recognize and characterize this anti-SVPT reaction for what it is...a tacit acknowledgement by the opposition as to the profound effectiveness of the SVPT initiative. That they have gone so far as to try to make a pejorative of the very name is a testament to and acknowledgement of that very success.
Look at it from a PR perspective. How many ad agencies would sell their souls to have their client's competitor using their own client's name in their own advertising campaigns?
To paraphrase some by-gone movie star, "The only thing worse than them talking about me is them not talking about me".
When you see an attempt to sully the Swift Boat Vet name, simply consider the source (I doubt you'll see it employed by "friendly" media unless used with a decidedly favorable bent) and the longevity and life that it injects into the debate. SVPT is in their knickers...DEEP...in their knickers. History and Truth will be the determinant of the "Swift Boat" definition, not spin. Don't allow them to get into YOUR knickers. |
