There are over 8,000 contributors for around half a million to Swifts.
They're not going to be able to say that this organization is a bunch of rich Republicans when the thousands of $5, $20 & $50 donations finally makes it onto the internet.

I'd be honored to have my name (with my overly generous $25 amount already contributed) listed on a publicly available page, along with potentially 7999 additional names.

I didn't use it...I prefer to send a check and I did. Hope to send more...anytime my clients have a kerry/edwards bumper sticker on their car they will unwittingly be making contributions to swiftvets.com!

I have been thinking about this. Trying to get people to donate money is always difficult. I for one could not even sell a parka to an eskimo let alone ask for money. It is just very distasteful to me to do or to have done to me. However, the fact remains that what the Swities are doing, like everything else, takes money. So how to encourage people to donate without offending.
It is a fact that....last I knew, 8,000 people have donated. So, how about asking each of the bloggers if they would be willing to post a "Thank You" from the Swifties....that would read something like this:
The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth want to thank the thousands of people who have contributed in support of their cause to expose the real John F. Kerry. We are overwhelmed with the support and encouragement we have received and very thankful. Money is ammunition in a war like this. Your continued support is needed. The battle rages on and we want to win the war. |

Even if you donate $2, please do it.

While I appreciate your intent, I think it's best that we leave the "blogosphere" alone so they can best direct their collective energies towards REAL news reporting and analysis of the critical issues we face today.

I really wish I could contribute more, but I just made a $25.00 one. Sorry, but I'm so broke that this will be my monthly cigarette money.

Seriously, I am so proud of the Swift Vets for taking an enormous amount of heat to tell the truth and expose Kerry for what he is.

A record of each contributor is, indeed, required by 527 groups such as the Swiftvets. On the Online Contribution page, at the lower left, is the address for mailing checks, if you prefer.
