Everyone,
The Dem 527s have hurt Bush badly. This race shouldn't be close. Bush should have a comfortable double-digit lead if you just look at the facts. Why doesn't he? Because he has been slammed for almost two years with hostile 527 ad money backed by a hostile MSM media.
However, you can only push so many voters away, and as someone else said, that market is tapped out. I think that any voter that could be convinced by a negative ad against Bush already has been....and some are beginning to change their minds (thanks SBVT!) However, the negative (if totally truthful) ads by 527 have been highly effective but also hit fertile ground because until this point Kerry got a pass on his war record.
In short, this is now Bush's race to lose. He still can and we shouldn't get complacent...the MSM will do anything to get their golden boy into office, but right now, it is Advantage: Bush....and this is before his convention is finished. [BTW, the RNC is a much better convention by any neutral non-partisan standard than the DNC....and I expect the polls will show it.] _________________ -Polaris

You can take out all the other stuff that happened before 1971 and you still have a very powerful negative message delivered by the very target of the ads himself... amazing.

I think you're kidding yourself.
The MSM would be PERFECTLY content (and are probably already armed to the teeth) to paint Kerry's post-Vietnam treachery as "Mr. Smith goes to Washington". |
