Remembering 9/11

(excerpt)

Today is the 3rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States. That attack cost over 3000 lives of Americans. Many of the Americans that died didn't even know what was happening, they died too quickly, and they were the lucky ones. The unlucky ones were the people stuck inside the towers trying to get out, knowing what had happened, and trying to escape. The unlucky people were also on the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. They knew what was in store for them, and heroically did their best to stop it. They weren't able to take back control of the plane, but they were able to down the plane themselves and in the process, save many American lives. God bless those heroes forever, they were true Americans.

The true heroes of 9/11 are the firefighters and police. They took charge of the situation with no concern of their own well being. They rushed into the burning towers while they were aflame in an attempt to save as many people as possible. They saved many lives that day. Sadly, a lot of policemen and firefighters were lost that day. They died heroically while attempting to save those who could not save themselves. They will always be remembered dearly in the hearts of every American. God bless those heroes forever, they were true Americans.

The families of the victims still suffer today because of their loss. No one will be able to bring back their loved ones. Let us not forget their grave loss, instead let us make sure it was not in vain. We, as Americans, need to continue to live our lives free. We, as Americans, need to fight against and destroy those that would see our country and our people harmed. We, as Americans, must make sure that 9/11 never happens again. We must not tolerate terrorism in the US or abroad. We need to track down every murdering coward in this world, string them up, and hang em high. No longer should the US tolerate countries that harbor or condone these vile people.

Please read about this hero of Vietnam and 9/11 while hearing the patrician voice of John Kerry in 1971 recounting the evil committed by those like him:

I will always remember, and because of that, will never forget that we are at war! (As Tommy Franks said, in order to sustain our capacity for continuing this battle, we must always be able to recall how we felt and what we thought on 9/12/01, the day after).

On 9/11, I was in a skyscraper looking out at a clear, blue Sept morning (in Minn.), doing what a lot of people were doing at the WTC when arriving for work, getting the computer on & gearing up for the day... news was conflicting, I left after I watched on TV at the office and saw the first Tower go down. I recall walking with a stranger to the bus and talking all the way - but I don't remember what we said. I then sat home with my dogs -- they watched me while I watched the TV without end, calling/emailing family. Trying to figure it out, like everyone else. That was the beginning of the change. I am not the same person, we are not the same nation as on 9/10/01 (at least, some of us aren't!!....)

The suffering, the sadness, the pride in the courage of our people -- the resolve to destroy to the last person these barbarics that attacked us -- whatever it takes, yes, then and now. Whatever it takes.

[note: tonight, I see Kasich on Fox is scheduled to have an extremist Iman on who glorifies the 9/11 attackers and is going to talk about the magnificence of their work. I am appalled, angry & disgusted that a voice, a forum, would be given to these monsters -- much less today, of all days. (I did not watch--so don't know if he was on or not.)]

As all of us..we will never forget that day..that sky being so crystal blue only to be darkened by smoke, fire..horror..by evil and hatred. There is how we were September 10, and how were were September 12..our mind set changed, the way we "woke UP" out of our slumber ..The first person that called? My dad, who else right?, he said to me, " Sweetie, we are at war now, now you understand the feelings your mom and I, and hundreds like us had on December 7, 1941"..He was so right..that shock..then the anger, and now the resolve...

There is no going back to September 10, 2001..but we must go forward..keeping the victims in our hearts and prayers and memories always..knowing that they were murdered by terrorists whose only goal is to defeat the United States..We all know, that no matter what they do, this great nation will never be defeated, ever..Our country is still a beacon for the world..of freedom, of liberty..We are the ideal, we are blessed, and I for one will never let this country be maligned anymore..

Tony Blair last summer received an award by Congress..(forgive me for not remembering what it was)..but in his address to Congress ..and I paraphrase..he said that he often thought if some father in Nebraska wondered why he had to send his son or daughter "over there" once again, to fight a war..then he said his answer was to all of us here because history chose this time for us to do so, his acutal quote he ended with was .."Because you are America!"

America says so much to so many..but to us? It is our home, our land, our way of life that we must continue to protect and defend against all enemies that wish to destroy what only the Creator can give..Freedom..

God bless this great land..God bless the victims and their families , and may God guide us in this mission that we must do for the good of us all..

Take care all..and thanks for letting me share my thoughts today..
Smile

Hello,

One of the heros of Flight 93, Todd Beamer, said: "Let's Roll"

Quote:
Todd Beamer ends his call at 9:58 AM saying that they plan "to jump" the hijacker in the back who claims to have a bomb. He lets go of the phone but leaves it connected. His famous last words are said to nearby passengers, "You ready? Okay. Let's roll!"

"Let's Roll"
