The best assets are the Swiftvets, Unfit For Command is formidable,
I have ordered two more for my kids, they are still undecided, this should
help since they aren't politically motivated. So send the book, if you can
to friends, family, ect., especially to those who live in areas dominated
by liberal press. Pass it on, pass it on.

Second, the ads are priceless. The more ads they can get out the better.
To get more ads out, give some more, even a little adds up.

Third, the ads being independently put into papers by veterans themselves. More people read their locals than the NYTimes, or LATimes.

Don't be afraid to discuss Kerry. I was talking to a friend about Kerry
having the Catholic Church annul his first marriage after two kids and
several years of marriage. As a Catholic, this particular fact offends me,
in the eyes of the church his children are de-legitimatezed. A woman
overheard us and said she had never heard this about Kerry. There
are alot of people out there who still haven't heard the truth about Kerry.

And last, never get nasty like some who back Kerry. That's their answer
to defending Kerry. It's not ours, the truth is far mightier than any
name calling.

ARMY 72,

I just caught the end of that speel by BOR.... was gonna try to catch it on a rerun tonight, but think I missed it by watching the rally again.... I wanted to send him an email also... so glad you posted what he said...

BOR IS NOT looking out for the people anymore.... what with interviews with MOORE and Bono (was he on something???? acted so weird) and slamming the SBVTS.... I think he acted condesending to John O.... like 'ok, now I've had you on the show.... enough now.... go away'

well BILL, they're NOT GOING AWAY !

I SAY: RALLY ACROSS AMERICA !!!!! GO VETS!

I think it was on MSNBC but it ended with them saying that another group was calling on the veterans to forget the past on move on.

The small grp of protestors that tried to disrupt the vet meeting included former VVAW people. One of them infiltrated the vet crowd but was recognized by an alert vet who had the police escort him out since they were suppose to stay away. From what I heard of the small group of protestors, they were verbally attacking the vets and the President. When they tried this junk, the vet crowd gave a loud chant of Kerry Lied, Men Died until the disruptors stopped. They only had to do that a few times in the beginning.

The AP is lying about the turnout saying it was a few hundred when it actually was over 2,000 according to a report I read from someone who attended. I've noticed they always downplay attendence at rallies the media doesn't like, if they cover them at all and inflate attendence at rallies they want to promote.

I hope the bloggers get the word out that a couple of thousand people attended a rally on short notice. And tell the stories of those that spoke.

The speakers were powerful; the truth they told of Kerry's treachery was powerful and emotional. I just wish more people could have attended but then, unlike the staged leftist rallies that bus in people from far away, these people had to pay their own way. That over 2,000 attended is really an accomplishment.

Each speaker was a true hero although not one called themself that unlike Kerry.

I would love to see an ad with the children of Vietnam Veteran POWs each holding a picture of their father in uniform looking directly at the camera requesting, "Senator Kerry, it is time for you to finally come forward and apologize for calling our dads war criminals".

John Kerry doesn't belong in the White House. Senator Kerry belongs in jail for what he did Exclamation

Follow the money. The bottom line is the bottom line and MSM ratings will drop as the gap between Bush and Kerry widens. The MSM is happy to sell out the truth in exchange for $$$$$$$$$$$$.

The Swiftvets took the MSM by surprise, no one expected the book to be such a huge success, the Swiftvets made the news, same as each time a
new, HARD HITTING AD comes out, but forget about getting the media
behind this. They didn't when the book first came out and they haven't,
so people, do like the others, figure out someway to get people's attention.
Remember.... The Silent Majority
They will be the ones casting their votes, they will see the ads, and the
bumper stickers, and hear their veteran friends and family speak out about what happened to them, don't give up, don't give in, don't get fixated on what is "reported" in the news. You gotta keep one step ahead of them.

To say it was not covered, is not true. There is a rule of thumb for Coverage....is that you need to "make news". Yes, unfortunately that means if a big fight between pro Kerry and anti Kerry people erupted it would have received far more coverage.

The protest was covered LIVE on C-Span....considering the number of protests in Washington all the time and all the protests.....if you look at it objectively, it was covered fairly enough. The message did get out.

My view is the any new Ads should focus on what Kerry did after he got back....those are the actions which have been suppressed from public view and review the most.

Below are some articles that you likely did not see

Vietnam veterans protest Kerry

By Arlo Wagner and Judith Person
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Thousands of Vietnam veterans and their families and friends applauded, yelled support and waved signs and flags for more than two hours yesterday at an anti-John Kerry rally outside the U.S. Capitol.
"John Kerry is not fit to tie the shoes of the heroes we have here at this rally," said John O'Neill of Houston, a member of the Swift Boat crews who have disclaimed the Democratic presidential candidate's statements about his military service.
"Leave John Kerry to command the largest vessel he's ever competently handled — his surfboard," said another speaker, B.G. Burkett, 60, another veteran and author of "Stolen Valor," which is about the legacy of the Vietnam generation.
The comments drew hearty approval from a crowd that organizers estimated at between 8,000 and 10,000.
Park and Capitol officials no longer provide crowd estimates, but some veteran observers estimated that the crowd numbered in the low thousands.
About a half-dozen pro-Kerry boosters stood with a banner, Veterans For Kerry, near the stage. John Grant, 57, of Philadelphia, entered the crowd, got in an argument and was escorted out by police.
"It's not right," Mr. Grant said, complaining that the rally was really a campaign to re-elect President Bush and that a permit for a similar rally in opposition to Mr. Bush would have been denied.
Several speakers and audience members said the rally was not political. There were no statements urging the re-election of Mr. Bush. But Mr. Burkett criticized CBS News anchor Dan Rather, who has become embroiled in a controversy over the network's reporting on "military records" of Mr. Bush's that appear to be forged.
Other speakers included Jim Warner of Rohrersville, Md., who said he was a prisoner of war when Mr. Kerry returned to the United States and criticized the conduct of American troops in Vietnam.
The Viet Cong interrogated Mr. Warner and used Mr. Kerry's quotes in an effort to persuade Mr. Warner to sign a statement about U.S. military cruelties.
The audience cheered and obviously agreed with all speakers.
"I have some real problems with Kerry," said retired Sgt. Maj. Ben Swartz, 66. "We feel that he degraded the servicemen who were serving their country."
Mr. Swartz and brother-in-law, retired Sgt. Bryant Bowman, and their wives came from Charleston, W.Va.
Mr. Bowman put his hand on his wife's shoulder. "She had to stay home and worry about me. She had our first baby while I was in Vietnam," he said, pausing as tears welled in his eyes. "And John Kerry is stirring it up all over again."
Debbie Ewert, 53, wore a T-shirt that read: "Kerry lied while good men died."
Mrs. Ewert's son is in the Marines. "I don't want him coming back to the same things the Vietnam vets came back to," she said.
Veterans, many holding flags and military banners aloft, stood or sat in lawn chairs listening. A smattering of younger protesters, many wearing anti-Kerry T-shirts, were sprinkled among the mostly middle-aged crowd.
Christy Williams, 28, and Olivia Tauthus, 27, said they were members of the conservative group Protest Warriors. "We are here to support the troops," Miss Williams said.
"This has nothing to do with political affiliation," said David Skocik, 56, who drove from Dover, Del., for the rally. His son was partly disabled serving in the military during the Persian Gulf war era, and his son-in-law recently returned from active duty in Afghanistan.
"I feel very strongly that we have to look out for our vets and to be sure that their best interests will be in mind from the White House," he said. "I don't think Kerry can do that."

Hundreds Of Vietnam Vets Protest Kerry
Veterans Accuse Candidate Of Lying 3 Decades Ago

http://www.thebostonchannel.com/politics/3724914/detail.html
UPDATED: 6:55 am EDT September 13, 2004

WASHINGTON -- Chanting "Kerry lied," hundreds of Vietnam veterans on Sunday rallied against fellow veteran and Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry.

Comrades died because of people like Kerry and Jane Fonda, asserted Larry Bailey, a U.S. Navy veteran and president of Vietnam Vets for the Truth.

With the U.S. Capitol as a backdrop, Bailey accused Kerry of lying three decades ago when he returned from Vietnam and gave testimony before the U.S. Senate in 1971 alleging widespread atrocities by American troops.

"We can tell him (Kerry) and spit in his eye while we're doing it, 'we served honorably and compassionately,"' Bailey said to cheers from the crowd of approximately 1,000.

Bailey's speech was interrupted when a shouting match broke out between a lone Kerry supporter in a wheelchair, Vietnam veteran Bobby Mueller, and a number of the anti-Kerry vets.

Before the rally, a group of supporters held a news conference nearby to defend Kerry and call for an end to the TV ads attacking the military record of the Massachusetts senator.

"What we ought to be talking about is what's happening today and that includes the best person to lead us out of the mess we've got ourselves in Iraq," Retired Gen. Merrill "Tony" McPeak, a former chief of staff of the Air Force, told reporters.

McPeak, who is advising the Kerry campaign and is a Vietnam veteran, said those who have questioned the five medals Kerry was awarded for Vietnam either weren't directly serving with him or their accounts have been directly contradicted by other vets who were side-by-side with Kerry.

I have also been searching for any mention in the MSM of Sunday's event.
Nothing in the Albuquerque Journal or on PBS. Didn't get to the network news.

This really confirms our feelings about the lack of fairness in the media.

I've donated again and will some more before November.
