Times maybe changing. My daughter is getting to come home from Basic at Ft. Jackson for the Christmas Holiday (not holiday season, it's CHRISTMAS). ANyway, she is being required to travel in Class A's. And as this applies to all who will be leaving the base for EXODUS there will be a lot of young people traveling in uniform on planes this year. I guess the "bad" guys can look at all our fine new troops and maybe have second thoughts about what they are plotting.

If this guy was the "expert" he claims he is, he would have noted that one of the first tipoffs to an urban myth is there are no firsthand accounts of it. Since we have firsthand accounts the "expert" is in error.

Here we go.... Urban Legend experts? Uh huh, yea right! As far as spitting goes, I have heard about it from other soldiers.

Otherwise my experience were with protesters at main gate of the base. Only three to four would come in from the fringe and spit at us in hopes of getting a rock solid confrontation going with the MP's. They tried all they could to get things stirred up.

Back in the early 70s I dated a young soldier who had returned from Vietnam 6 months earlier. The story was he was spit at when he arrived at Chicago Ohare. His parents were there to pick him up and saw it happen. If his father hadn't grabbed hold of his mother, she would have torn the long haired skinny a**ed hippy limb from limb.

I know the feeling...........

I thought the same way as you until my son who was on liberty this past May had some hippie type flip him the middle finger. Look at the media they are Ratherizing our troops by blowing right by their accomplishments while honing in on any miss steps. If we stand passively by your daughter will come home to the same type pf treatment received by the Vietnam era troops.

If some hippie type spit on our son at O’Hare I wouldn't hold my wife back she grew up a daughter of a truck driver with five older brothers she is more then capable of taking care of some hippie.

Due to recent concerns, health and public safety, a growing number of governmental bodies now classify "spitting" and/or the discharging of "bodily fluids" or "fluids" of any kind upon another as "felony assault" or "with the intent to inflict harm" upon another.

I'll research the state codes (RCW) for Washington State and put the link in this message later. I worked event staff/security at pro-ballgames & concerts for four years here in the Pac-Nor West.

Should this happen to YOU or ANYONE you are with, notify law enforcement personnel immediately and get *medical attention* very fast. Do not try to apprend or detain the individual yourself. The person committing the act may indeed be a "carrier".

Any continued action on your part to apprehend such an individual will only place you at further risk of "contagious infection".
No, I am not joking....
