I agree completely that the operative word is DEMAND but I don't know an effective way to DEMAND from those folks. Does anyone know a good way to DEMAND? Perhaps quid pro quo? Do the Swiftees have anything with which to barter the answers or force a signature on Form 180?

The big question is, how long this investigation will take?

The date is initially misleading, but the references in the article show it has to be after the republ. convention, and it also is in the email address: “..news/2004/09/05/..”

Great article and thanks! However, they carry on with Kerry’s legend, his two tours -- the “big gun” that he shoots at anyone looking at him: “…The highly unusual inquiry is to be carried out by the inspector-general's office of the United States navy, for which Sen Kerry served as a Swift Boat captain for four months in 1968, making two tours of duty.”

“Two tours of duty” like a fact cast in stone. I will be happy to see this, also, being questioned along with everything else. It’s been debunked here, but we can’t seem to get it “out there.

Beatrice,

The story was filed in the UK and used European dating conventions. Under that convention, filing day is DD/MM/YY while in the US it is MM/DD/YY.

Yes, and I was just pointing out to those who were questioning that it is also in the email address 2004/9/5, but thanks! Very Happy They do things backwards, yes (oh, wait! maybe it's us doing it backwards), but they can pen a good story from time to time (except for the little "two tours" thing.... grrr-rr.)

Yes....the keyword is DEMAND.

I want to make a very strong point ....

There is MORE than enough evidence to prove Kerry has lied about not only the medals.......he has lied about EVERYTHING....the worst was calling Vietnam Veterans murderers and war criminals.

We can sit here and get bogged down in talking points..." he said. she said that they said.

The only GOAL we should have in mind is :

DEMAND THAT KERRY HIMSELF.....ANSWER THE CHARGES PUT BEFORE HIM ! NOW....AFTER ELECTION DAY ON NOV 2 !!!!!!

With less than 60 days before the election on Nov.2, Kerry is praying that the leftist media keep ALL THIS BURIED. Kerry has enough money with Soros soft money to do just that !

With less than 60 days for Kerry to beat the Nov 2 deadline....it's too late
for emails, faxes and chat. Mass, lengthy emails are deleted as fast at they are received....faxes, some get read, most don't. The only thing we can do now is to start telephoning ourSenators and Congressman and
DEMAND that Kerry himself...not his goons......publically answer the charges.

If we cannot DEMAND that the charges from SBVT and ALL voters be answered BEFORE we go to the polls......we might as well conceed right now.

If it is true that an investigation is place, then it seems to me that the single issue of the Combat V on the Silver Star will put Kerry in a box that he can’t get out of. It’s on his 214 for the world to see, and he has to know it’s there. Isn’t it true that it is a person’s responsibility to correct errors on the 214? Someone said it will be passed off as a typo. That tests the limits of credibility.

Irrespective of the seriousness of the offense, whatever he said about Admiral Borda now applies to himself. I don’t remember the exact quote but as I recall he said something about going to the heart of a man’s character.

That Telegraph article had this paragraph:

"The highly unusual inquiry is to be carried out by the inspector-general's office of the United States navy, for which Sen Kerry served as a Swift Boat captain for four months in 1968, making two tours of duty"

Golly, even when they try they can't their facts right.

I remain totally adamant....Kerry is only trying to buy time from the leftist media, hoping to keep all of this buried until election day.

Whatever has to be done to put this out front before Nov 2....that's what needs to be done. We simply cannot wait for the Dept. of the Navy or the Pentagon wheels to start moving.

The article indicated that the investigation would be performed by the Naval Inspector General.

The Naval Inspector General's website has a HOTLINE COMPLAINTS section. Perhaps if hundreds and hundreds of visitors to this website filed complaints, citing only the facts, referring to the Swiftees documentation - that we can apply a little pressure to speed things up.

You can go here to file a complaint and ask for a review of Kerry's medals:

This is my first post to this site but have been avidly reading all posts for over a month. My husband and I have sent an e-mail to the above site thanking them for opening up an investigation.

Brinkley: Navy Probe Could Doom Kerry Campaign Sen. John Kerry's campaign biographer Douglas Brinkley said Sunday that if an ongoing Navy investigation into Kerry's military decorations turns up evidence of "purposeful" deception, it could spell doom for the top Democrat's White House bid.

Praising reporter Thomas Lipscomb, who broke news of the Navy investigation on Friday, Brinkley told WABC Radio's Steve Malzberg, "Journalists are going to have to see whether there's a discrepancy on [the citations posted to Kerry's] Web site - whether there's something wrong that's said there or not."

"If so," said the "Tour of Duty" author, "Kerry would have to fix it immediately - and it does raise some questions as to why that would happen."
"Is it sloppiness, is it purposeful intent, is there an easy explanation for it?" Brinkley wondered.

He said that while questions raised by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth about Kerry's war record have been very damaging, "so far they haven't been lethal." But Brinkley predicted that a discrepancy with Kerry's medals could seriously escalate his political problems.

Asked if inconsistencies uncovered by the Navy probe could be the "death knell" for Kerry's campaign, Brinkley told Malzberg, "It could."
In the next breath he hastened to add, however: "Right now it's unclear. So we have to just wait to see what all this adds up to."
The presidential historian called on Kerry to authorize the release of his full military file, saying, "Clearly some of these military records should be made available to the press."
