C W (Bill) Nickerson, US Navy 1944-1954. Served on USS Brooklyn, USS Los Angeles, USS Cavalier, USS LST1141, USS LSM399, USS Carmick and several smaller craft. Have never accepted Kerry since his 1970's traitor acts.
I hope that Congress, The Defense Dept and the US Navy finally make Kerry pay for his acts against this country that we all love.
If he is elected to the office of the President, he will try to make us into a socialist country.

My name is Dave.

I enlisted with the Army and served in Vietnam from 2/1/69 to 9/4/1970.
I was assigned to the 3/82 Artillery; 196th Light Infantry Brigade. My service was on small fire support bases or LZ's to the southwest of Danang. I was in Kham Duc, (on Laotion border) in July of 1970. I got injured there and spent my last month in a hospital in Chu Lai.

I was no hero. I didn't receive any medals and didn't deserve any. I just did my assigned job to the best of my ability. Given the option I would do the same again.

I also had a brorther who served as a F-100 pilot in Vietnam from 5/68 to 5/69, (Tuy Hoa). Like another poster indicated we could have chosen for one or the other of us to have gone home since we were both in VN at the same time. But that wouldn't have been the right thing to do when others were serving. My brother was subsequently killed in the crash of an F-4 in 1972. He WAS, and in my mind still is, a real hero!

The Swift Boat Veterans speak for all who served honorably. I deeply appreciate their efforts.

My name is Peg, and I am a proud retired Navy vet, as is my husband. Joined in '68, retired in '95 (had a 6 yr break in service). My husband served on 4 carriers, we both were Aviation Supply. Howdy..My name is John and I was in the Nave from April 1969 to Jan 1973. I served aboard two tin cans for most of my duty. The USS Massey DD778 and the USS Vogelgasang DD862. Although I didn't get to 'Nam my heart was and still is with those who were. Except for Kerry!! I remember when he told Congress and the Nation that all of my Heros were "baby killers, rapers and pillagers" Also I remember when Hanoi Jane went to North Vietnam and met with POW's. While shaking all of their hands she was passed a note which she gave to the North Vietnam General at that meeting. The only word that comes to mind for these two people is Traitors!! Thank God for the Swifties who let the world know about Kerry.

NROTC (NUKE E) '63 - One year delay to get an MSNucE, Nuke Power school in Idaho, qualified in FBM subs as an ass't reactor officer. Active till 70 - Ready Reserve till '93.

No medals - just the "Been there and stayed out of the line of fire" decorations plus a Navy Achievement for some rather routine design engineering.

Did cruise under the Polar Ice Cap.

I tell people that I am a Vietnam-ERA veteran, normally when they ask, "How did you get TWO National Defense Service Medals?" Wink

I was never actually in 'Nam, as thing were winding down when I enlisted. I had my share of interesting moments though, like flying into Sarajevo to work on network infrastructure *before* "the first US/NATO troops enter Bosnia" in 1995. And wondering what the heck a computer geek was doing flying into what was still essentially a combat zone.

My name is Jim, I was one of the "draft dogers" in the mind of John Kerry, in that I signed up for USNR in the fall of 1965, committed to serve 2 years active duty. Became a Fire Control Tech, "A" school Great Lakes, then served from Oct '67 to Nov '68 on the USS Wm. M. Wood, DD-715. Would have most likely ended up on a Swift Boat myself except for on graduation day I was given a choice of "which coast do you want?" Rightly or wrongly I picked the East coast and ended up in the Med and the Carribean for the rest of the tour. Finished out active reserve responsibilities in Anderson, IN in 1972.

Thanks to all of you who really did fight the war. Your voices are rightly and finally being heard here, now. And every voice does finally count.

I was with the 101st AirBorne and participated in Operation Just Cause, Desert Shield/Storm and spent time at several other locations. My service was from 1986-1994 and my dad was in the 101st AirBorne and served during the VietNam war.
I feel that this site is great and that you guys are doing a fantastic job.

My name is Bob Pisani. I served with the 8th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Divsion from 1967 to 1968 first in the Central Highlands then the I Corps when the bid Tet started.

I cannot thank the Swifties enough for telling the truth about Komrade Kerry. It's sad to see that Kerry and Kennedy and the rest of the left wing democrrats are betraying our brave young men and women in Iraq and Afganistan the same way they betrayed us in Vietnam.

17 months ago, I got the question from my children: "What did you do in the war, Dad"?

First time I'd talked to my kids about how I went from being 19 to 45 in 1 year.

Sets I guy to thinking, doesn't it?

BTW. I have a voting age daughter (her first), and she's listening and watching.

I think she likes the honesty and the truth.

This is only my first post. I find a topic that I have some knowledge of (like applying BandAids to self-inflicted Blooper damage), I'll pipe up. Otherwise, I'll just read and learn.
