I watched BOR tonight because of the promo about the draft issue
and because Col. David Hunt was going to be on to talk about the
NG platoon that recently refused to obey an order . I LOVE Col.
Hunt. He has just returned ftom a visit to Iraq. Both of those
segments were "fair and balanced". I was also interested in the
update on the SBVT until I saw that it was Brinkley who was going
to be on. I can not stand that man! He has the nerve to call himself
a historian when his correct title should be hero worshiper. I did not
even waste my time trying to listen to Brinkley's BS. I switched over
to the Red Sox-Yankees game. I am a Braves fan, but I am pulling
for New York. I have a soft spot in my heart for them ever since 9-11.

Tonight, Brinkley managed to slander Adm. Hoffman, saying some unnamed people didn't like him for some unspecified reasons. Also, he said Steve Gardner turned against Kerry because the latter threatened to court-martial Gardner for firing his twin 50's during a mission. Yep, a really objective historian.

Don't hold your breath waiting for O'Reilly to seek the other side of those tales.

Kerry claims the rules were that it was a freefire zone and the gunners were told to fire at will at anything that moved, so how can he court-marshal Gardner for firing his guns if Gardner was allowed too?

If you want to write to BOR then ask him where the opposing view was in tonight's discussion with Brinkley - you know, the one he, BOR, preached about last week when he was dissing Sinclair's airing of Stolen Honor.

I don't think Brinkley will sell many books after this. The SVPT will damage his credibility further when they begin their rebuttal.

Brinkley was already embrassed when he was supposed to explain how Kerry was in Cambodia in Dec 1968 under Nixon's orders. But he couldn't explain it.

I don't watch BOR live anymore. I recorded it and didn't watch it until after I read the posts. I really liked the guy BOR had on after who talked about the importance of staying the course in Iraq. When you see that contrasted with someone who has to defend K because of the POWs and the Swiftvets the only choice for commander in chief is Bush.

on Cspan yesterday (dated 10/11) Brinkley said HOffmaN WAS called 'mad dog something' (hey that doesn't mean he had rabies!) and that HE was the one who wanted them to shoot everything that moved or was Vietnamese.... that he didn't care if they were civilians or not....

and on Christmas in Cambodia, he said Kerry was in Cambodia in January.... that he just got the month mixed up! you remember- Christmas in January ! We celebrate that also.... or maybe just Catholic alter boys do.
So he got the month mixed up???? Well, what if AS PRESIDENT, he JUST gets the countries MIXED UP???? and bombs Italy instead of Iran?

Right.....

I believe this is it:

dbrinkle@uno.edu

I got it off the University of New Orleans faculty email addresses, Douglas G Brinkley. That is where the Eisenhower Center is which he is the director. There is also a phone number listed. Not sure if we can post the phone number so I'll post the link for the search page for faculty members.

another thing - I'm going to have to try and catch a rerun of brinkley on Cspan....
I seem to remember him saying something about a fight (battle) and Kerry carrying someones head under his arm.... and this is what changed his life and caused him to become anti war....
now, I just read in the new epilogue for UFC that Kerry had said that the trip into Cambodia was? I'm sure I knew that and just forgot.... because as soon as I read it, I connected it to what Brinley said on Cspan!

and of course, it was seared, seared into Kerry 's memory.... not carrying someone's head under his arm! (ick)
(I'd have thought it would be seared into mine by now!) Wink

I think BOR has lost his great following and that is the conservative base. I used to love to watch him , but not any more.

Watching the replay of Brinkley. I can't believe that BOR and the rest of LSM wont go for the throat. Just give him a pass and let the lies go un challenge.
