Kerry spokesman Chad Clanton says "its hard to take an offer seriously from a group that is hellbent on doing anything to help elect President Bush even if that means violating basic journalism standards". I must of missed Chad Clanton's comments on Dan Rathers CBS story, or the ABC memo. I guess it is only violating basic journalism standards when Kerry's record is being exposed.

CNN doing a story on this right now (9:30 CST) --- long story, basically calling this a political move and a smear on Kerry. Saying, what would people say if we aired Farenheit 911 right before the election? (as if they haven't covered that movie for months & months....). What is it that they are so afraid of when confronted with a truthful documentary?

They just called it "biased propaganda against one candidate." --I can't listen to this anymore... so tiresome, so slanted, so not understanding what is truth.

It just disturbs me that they get the free pass to try and shut the movie down, instead of trying to prove the facts to be false.

I just keep hoping that people are smarter than the media will give them credit for, and that when people see the documentary that they will only try to seek the truth instead of quickly reject it.

And just who is behind this production. They'll try and discredit anyone wont they..
Quote:
Carlton Sherwood is a distinguished newspaper and TV investigative reporter and the recipient of journalism's highest honors in print and broadcast news, the Pulitzer Prize and George Foster Peabody Award. His other national awards include the Society of Professional Journalists Sigma Delta Chi Award, the Investigative Reporters and Editors Award, The National Headliner Award, the American Bar Assn. Silver Gavel, Women in Communications Clarion Award, the John Hancock Award, the International Film Critics Award and several Emmy Awards.

During a 35-year career Sherwood has authored dozens of investigative reports exposing political and corporate corruption, government sponsored child abuse, sex and drug scandals in the military, misuse of charitable funds by nonprofit organizations, institutional abuse of the handicapped, racial discrimination and religious bigotry and Church-sanctioned fraud.

Sherwood began his career in 1968, working as a reporter and editor for several Philadelphia-area newspapers. In 1978, he was assigned to the Washington, D.C., bureau of Gannett News Service. Several years later, he transitioned to broadcast news, working as an investigative reporter for CBS-TV affiliates in Boston and Washington and CNN's Special Assignment Unit. In 1986, he was the chief investigative reporter for The Washington Times.

His work earned him numerous commendations from national advocacy groups, including the U.S. Civil Rights Commission, U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, the National Spina Bifida Assn. and the National Assn. for the Disabled and Handicapped.

A thrice-wounded, decorated, Marine Corps combat veteran, Sherwood served as a sniper-scout with the vaunted Second Battalion, Fourth Marine Regiment -- "Magnificent Bastards" -- during some of the war's bloodiest fighting on Viet Nam's notorious DMZ in 1967. Following a four-year voluntary enlistment, he was honorably discharged in 1968.

Sherwood's journalistic efforts about veterans, particularly disabled veterans, resulted in the Blinded American Veterans Foundation creating their annual media award in his name. For the last two decades the BAVF has presented the Carlton Sherwood Media Award to a print and broadcast journalist for their work on behalf of veterans who suffer severe, life long-long disabilities. Several nationally syndicated and network TV journalists -- and the National Press Club itself -- are recipients of the BAVF's Carlton Sherwood Media Award.

Earlier this year, he was presented the 2004 Media Service Award from the National Military Order of the Purple Heart Assn. in ceremonies in Washington, D.C. His work on behalf of Pennsylvania veterans was recognized by the Governor and Department of Military and Veterans Affairs in 2002 with the Commonwealth’s highest civilian honor, the Pennsylvania Meritorious Medal.

In early 2003, Sherwood was named executive vice-president for the wvc3 Group, an antiterrorism, security firm in Reston, VA. Later that year he traveled to Iraq to conduct a theater-wide fact-finding mission and, upon his return, authored several reports on his experiences and findings.

Sherwood took an unpaid leave of absence from the wvc3 Group in June 2004 in order to establish Red, White & Blue Productions, Inc., an independent film company which produced "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal." The documentary received its initial funding entirely from Pennsylvania Veterans. Since the Stolen Honor website – www.stolenhonor.com -- was activated in late August, just prior to the debut of the film, additional funds have been received from individuals and entities nationwide. No political campaign, candidate or political party have been involved in any way in the financing or production of Stolen Honor

I didnt realize his Productions company is here in PA in Harrisburg. That's about 20 minutes from where I live. My father in law is a very outspoken Vet who does alot in Harrisburg, I'm gonna hook up with him tomorrow and see If we can somehow get this thing aired here. We have a publice access station in Harrisurg, PCN. I know our local ABC station in Harrisburg at times airs their own programming, maybe if we could round up sponsors, and seeing this guy's from PA and has done alot, maybe they's air it. When is the main nationwide airing?

Well, as my father in law's always telling me.. Keep your powder dry.

Good going to all who have emailed!
Don't let the polls throw you. We all
know how skewed they can be. Our
emails will be more powerful than any
vote. I'm sure that the DNC has banks
of people assigned to such "polls".

Heard some of the news last night and what the Dems are saying about this film and how it denigrates 'their' candidate. I thought, 'How DARE they say a documentary about our US POWs is garbage.

And so this morning I have sent this email (with modifications where necessary) to all the stations/news outlets listed in this thread. Thank you, SooZQ, for doing this good work.

********************************
I appreciate very much your willingness to show the documentary film, 'Stolen Honor.' I have seen clips of it on the internet and look forward to seeing the entire film. Jim Warner, one of the former POWs who tells his story in this documentary, is from my home town of Ypsilanti, Michigan. To all of us in that town, he was -- and is -- a hero. I am very grateful that our POWs, after all these years, are finally being given an opportunity to be heard. Perhaps now, at long last, they can come home With Honor.

Yours most sincerely,

If the Dems want equal time, play "Going up River" then play "Stolen valor."

Kerry wants "equal time?" My God, the entire MSM is in the tank for him.

This documentary scares the hell out of Kerry for only one reason: it is true. The public senses it, too.

Mine has been sent. I am not as articulate as the majority here but I try to do my part.

Quote:
I would like to send my appreciation to the Sinclair Broadcasting Co, owner of the local station KSMO, for announcing the airing of Stolen Honor in the next few days. With the media bias that is slanted towards President Bush, I.E Memogate and F 9/11, it is proper for the documentary critical of Senator Kerry record to receive the air time. This documentary is completely different than F 9/11 since it is told by the Vets that actually lived during the time of Senator Kerry's anti-war antics and is based on the facts of what they lived through. The POWs and the Viet Nam vets deserve to be heard and they need to have the Media and the DNC stop repressing their right to heard.

I commend Mr. Sinclair for allowing this true documentary to be aired so the electorate has the opportunity to view the other side of Senator Kerry's record which Himself and the DNC have so strongly misled the American People.

Sincerely

Absolutely! "Violating basic journalism standards" is fine as long as the media is 90% Democrat ("but it doesn't affect our objectivity!" yeah, right!) or as long as (as Evan Thomas of Newsweek recently and honestly opined) "the glow, the optimism" will be worth 15 points (to Kerry/Edwards). Apparently, anything short of that shameless towing of "the party line" (sounds like the old Soviet Union, doesn't it?) is unacceptable to the frothing liberal palate...

Apparently Moore and his ilk is going to have a 3 hour review of F911 (what a joke) in the next few weeks on some set of channels (someone's paying for it...)...So what's CNN's "high road" all about? Much ado about nothing...let the truth be told - we certainly won't hear the whole truth ever from Michael Moore (and usually lies)!
