I find it so interesting to see and hear all of the different stands so as not to offend one of another religion. It is my opinion that we are, excuse me,
were a nation founded as a christian nation employing christian morays and values.
John Adams said : "The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I know that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.".
John Jay, the first chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, said: "Providence has given to our people the chance of their rulers and it is the duty, as well as the privilege, of our Christian Nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.".
In George Washington's farewell address after 45 years of public service,
he listed over a dozen warnings that the new leaders must guard against to keep the new country strong. Four of these warnings consisted of keeping our country close to God. President Washington believed that if and individual attempted to separate religion and morality from politics, he or she coud not be called an American Patriot.
Finally, The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 1892, "No purpose of action against religion can be imputed to any legislation, state or national, because this is a religious people. This is a Christian nation."
Then comes the activist courts beginning with new Supreme Court members who started using the 'repitition theory'. They picked our the five words of Jefferson's letter of 1801 'Separation of church and state' and used them ad nauseum. Then along came 1962 when the Supreme Court delivered its first ruling completely separating Christian principles from education via the O'Hare incident.
That started us on the downward spiral we are now 'enjoying'. I fear for our country, folks. I fear for a country that is ever more turning its back on God. After all it is 'In God We Trust'. That's not just a clever saying. _________________ LOCK & LOAD!
