What about the failed rescue attempt? You know the one that lacked what was it; one helicopter? President Carter did not listen to the advice of his military leaders and because of that not only did the rescue mission fail, but we lost soldiers in the operation. |

Geano--great analogy, three Stooges indeed, the intellectual morons!
srmorton--I am glad Reagan brought me to the light, I never feel sorry for Carter, I remember one of my sargeants telling me his micromanaging was the cause of so much blunder, especially the hostage rescue failure. The day Reagan came into office the military immedicately felt like a new animal, it was great, pay raises, new equipment, better training--like the difference between Bush and Clinton. _________________ Never Ever Give Up

I too remember Carter very well. He was a poor sailor, a poor scientist, a stinker of a president (possibly the worst in that century) and he's a poor human being right up to and including his Nobel award. That particular Peace Prize was not for the great things he did but rather a slap at President Bush for fighting back against terrorism. He's best known for leaking our stealth technology but that was not mentioned. He was totally incompetent in monitoring the Venezuelan election process and if he had his way, the Iranians would still have the hostages, just like the ROTTEN Vietnamese government still holds American POWs.
How cum when the leftwing proffers a stinker like him, or grievously errs, as Madam "real job" Dumpty did this week, their standard response is "let's move on." I WILL NOT MOVE ON! I'M SICK OF MOVING ON! I WANT TO DWELL FOR A WHILE ON ALL THEIR CRIMES AND FAILURES. Sometimes it just makes me feel good. I received a Presidential Citation in 1980 (for some good work) and when advised of the honor, I was told of the proverbial good and bad news. The good news was the award itself. The bad news was it was signed by Carter. I was gracious but until now (and in another post) have told no one of it. _________________ '58 Airedale HMR(L)-261 VMO-2 |
