This is called a 'false premise' and it is a wonderful foundation if you are building a house of cards. If some of the large donors had not been republicans, the Dems would be questioning why ‘grass roots’ republicans fund this group. And if George Soros funded this group – they would question the foreign interests here. There is no way to win this debate - because the debate itself is based on the false premise that there is something wrong with people who are Republicans supporting this group and that the group itself is engaged in some sort of campaign to 'smear' a real live war hero. As pointed out - this is hypocrisy - but the dems don't care about that. They're just looking for sound-bites and calling for anyone to take back their donation would provide them just that
