We need to stop calling each other names here on this board. If anyone has a problem with another poster's qualifications to be here, please PM one of the Moderators with your concerns. While you may disagree with Doug, he certainly is not a 'wannabe', so lets let that label go! Okay?

Surely Nakona (am I spelling that correctly?) wasn't referring to me. It must have been someone else.

Let's hope so! Maybe he's confusing you with Nolan and will apologize!

Boy, you two are too quick for me. After I said, 'Doug' I realized that maybe he was talking about truth108. So, Doug, sorry about that. But, my post stands as written, except for posting Doug's name.
If anybody has a problem with any other poster, please PM one of the Moderators about it, and do not call any other poster here names, such as 'wannabe'. Is that better?

hist/student wrote: | Doug, as far as apologizing to Sampley, I have read your discription of events on Memorial day and your description of events on the'view from an army boat.'
In both instances you have cast what might be considered a
shadow of 'reasonabe doubpt ' on the events-- which as portrayed leave your candidate Kerry in a unfavorable light.
For my part as a factor of the most Basic of Common sense I have extream doubpt of your credibility on these matters.
You have very kindly answered all Questions I have adressed to you and I appreciate that.
To be sure though we each come away with very different views of who and why you are here.
I do believe your version of the Sampley story is Second hand, is it not?
My version is also second hand... so their you have your 'reasonable doubpt' |
Second hand? Of course it was as I wasn't there.
I have spoken (twice) to one of sampley's employees, right there at the booth. She was the one quoted in the original story. Let's refer to her as DL.
I spoke once to another employee, again at the booth. She is the person who took some photos. They will be developed Wednesday -- why she didn't rush the process is a mystery.
There is no question that it did not happen at The Wall. There is no question that he wasn't stopped to speak to school children when this happened. Both of these employees saw/heard much, but not all, of what happened, and pointed out what happened where.
There is one question, though, and that might be answered by the photos. That question, if answered in the affirmative, will be to the great embarrassament of DL, when I told her why Kerry was there. To her credit, she has already apologized in public (insofar as the newsgroup alt.war.vietnam is public) if the photos show that the family was with Kerry when he first walked by the booth, as that was where she confronted Kerry.
The photos might also show if the family was still with Kerry when sampley was harassing Kerry, which was after Kerry & the family were done at The Wall, and Kerry was on his way back to his car. That began within sight of The Wall, somewhat passed the Women's Memorial, and continued past the Park Ranger's booth, which was out-of-sight of The Wall.
I might add that I believe what DL had to say, as a liar she isn't. She did say that the "salute" wasn't all that obvious, and that you had to be looking at him, and paying attention to even see it.

So, if you were to make your long story short and finally get to the point -- it appears that you agree that Kerry did flip the bird to Sampley?
It doesn’t matter to me whether it was at the Vietnam Memorial or at the local 7-11, the point is that a possible CIC and president was low enough to let his emotions get the best of him and flip the bird. Next thing we'll hear about is Kerry getting involved with road rage.
This Kerry fellow is a fraud, a liar, and would be a worse embarrassment to this country than the Clintons ever could be. _________________ Watch Kerry Implode Because Of Truth!!
