... playing devils advocate
Although this proves that it was most probably Kerry that wrote the report, the Kerry campaign can say that when he "rescued" Rassmann, there were still snipers shooting at Rassmann, and Rassmann corroborates with this story... deserving of a Bronze Star. Is there anything to disprove this?
Just wondering, were there any medical reports for Purple Hearts 1, 2 or 3 in the archives? Is there an after-action report for Purple Heart 1? |

How about a report showing the number of rounds expended? If they were under fire for 1 1/2 hours, they should have been Winchester on automatic-weapons ammo, one would think. |

Yes, no gunfire damage to any boat and no casualties attributable to small arms fire. Only bullet damage was to PCF-51 from the previous day. 5 floating Semi-trucks in a 75 yard wide canal. _________________

Navy Chief,
The reference to Bob Kerrey and Seals in your post of the Hoffman message may be important in the context of awarding undeserved medals. Bob Kerrey was awarded a Bronze Star on the basis of a fraudulent after action report for an action on 2/25/69. Bob Kerrey was confronted with this info and admitted it. The story broke in 2001.
Was Hoffman pumping medals for both guys at the same time?
Can you post the Bob Kerrey Info? |

Is there a substantive Kerry autograph on the report?
Just asking!!! |
Someone brought up the point sometime back, that Kerry, having been educated in European schools, was the only PCF skipper that used the term "METERS" in his reports. The Unites States did not officiallyadopt the Metric System until 1975.
I have yet to see any AAR's or other reports regarding PCF's in Vietnam other than Kerry's that used "meters" to describe distances. Just "yards"!!! Kerry's "high octane" education provided a "signature". |

I don't know if it's good or bad, but note that luciane.com has a direct link to this post in her bulleted "must read" section. There will plenty of attention paid to this thread soon.

Navy Chief,
Thanks for your reply on the Bob Kerrey thing. I can see the need for morale building. How could anyone trying to build morale know that his morale building efforts would be misused as John Kerry is doing?
Keep up the great work!!! |

There you go on Bob Kerrey, again! Haven't we hashed this out in other threads before?
Let Bob go. He's not the enemy here. In fact, let me quote from page 68 pf "Unfit For Command": "So, for the first four or five minutes, Hoffman responded enthusiastically, eager (as most Swiftees would be) to assist Robert Kerrey in his bid for the nation's highest office. Then, when Hoffman realized he was speaking with John Kerry, not Robert Kerrey, his tone changed almost immediately and he became completely noncommittal."
I know Bob Kerrey said "F*** the Swift Boat Vets", but that's not going to convince any voter. I don't know about you, I've been told to FO before and I don't lose sleep over it. I dislike the man's politics, too, but let's not let him become a distraction from the many misdeeds of John "Forged" Kerry. |

Chief,
The link is www.lucianne.com. Look at the top of the page at the list under Must Reads of the Day. There is a list starting with "CBS Offers New Experts to Support Guard Memos." The one I referenced is the next-to-last of the bulleted list. It is a direct link to here. |
