Yup, makes me proud to be a union pipefitter. Not the first time I found myself on the opposite side politically from my union. The local news letter is pretty much a democratic brag sheet. Works good for lighting fires in the woodstove though.

The following is satire, but barely:

After ransacking these offices, for an encore, they could get together and build a big fire and throw copies of UFC (and other like minded books) on it as they march by in lock step.

The union workers I see posting here must feel like if they don't "join the party" they won't be able to feed their families, and I understand their frustration.

And the "Riefenstahller" MSM continue to tell us about the great "Leaders" "Struggle".

I think I'm going to be ill.

I was talking to our office janitorial workers, they work under a sub contract, They all had to attend a meeting were they were told to vote for Kerry.

It's one thing to know that the boss supports a certain candidate but to hold special meetings were the workers are told whom to vote for seems very unamerican.

It sounds ILLEGAL to me. Where's the FBI?

It is illegal, but the fact of the matter is the union can make life pretty miserable if you don't go along. That also is illegal but hard to prosecute and most people just want to do their jobs and get paid. Good news is that we still have private balloting so they can intimidate all they want but they can't stop you from voting your way.

How can the Union know how someone votes? Aren't there laws to protect a citizen's rights to vote for whoever they want?

Wow, this is aweful.

They don't know how you are going to vote, but they can pester you about it. This is not lawful, but if you complain they can find a way to get even later. So just go along and vote however you want when you get in the booth. Sounds as the the unions are going to provide "poll watchers" who can give that last minute encourgement.

Remember the immortal words of Chicago's Mayor Daley, "Vote early and vote often!"
