Yeah... he had his own cover-up incident involving water -- maybe these guys need to take a slow boat outta here !! He's been quiet lately, don't ya think? Head down -- maybe someone has seen the pic of him walking /talking with Kerry during the Washington protest of 71.... |

I had originally heard about SBVT from a link from Newsmax.com during their press conference in May, and I ordered the book in July. I just received it yesterday, and am halfway through reading it.
What I'm wondering is, how could Kerry get away with writing his own self-glorifying reports without anyone calling him up on it then?
I just heard on Fox News that there's a group of pro-Kerry veterans in Hanoi that the AP has interviewed. But maybe they wanted the North to win the war, and cozied up to Kerry and Jane Fonda! _________________ The traitor will crater! |

Because he was an officer and therefore presumed a gentleman, in the old-fashioned sense of the word, "gentleman."

This if from a Patrol officer's perspective.
These were small elements of a 16 boat division working off a LST anchored offshore. 6-10 boats in the Task Element. The administrative staff was 100 miles away in An Thoi.
Most Patrol officers, myself included, didn't give a damn about writing reports unless something really important, like a shortage of beer, happened.
We were fighting a war. If a young guy comes along with a typewriter and volunteers to write after action reports, we'd say, Go for it man..I want a beer and some sleep.
I wasn't in COSDIV 11 but that's how it worked in the two riverine divisions I served in. _________________

I am with Steve Z. I grew up during the VietNam era and my
brother-in-law served two "real" tours there. I knew about
Hanoi Jane, but I did not know about the prominent role that
John Kerry played in the war protests. I think there are a lot
of people like me that are in their 40's and 50's that are being
informed by the SBVTs. I did not really know at the time how
the actions of John Kerry and others affected the veterans as
they returned to the US since our small, southern military town
has always welcomed our heroes home. I had never and would
never have supported John Kerry, but I can not help but think
that others in my age group that are "undecided" are being
swayed by the message of the Swiftvets. _________________ Susan R. Morton |
