I am a union worker so you know that most of the people that I work with have fallen to the lies that the libs are good for the workers. I was viewing my track warrants and misc paperwork for the train I was taking yesterday and I listened to a group of democrats in a circle talking about F911. They were all slamming Moore for the blatant lies in it. They were saying things like "I was excited that someone had facts that Bush was an idiot, but after seeing this film it is apparent that Moore hurts us more than helps". One guy asked another "Why did this idiot lie and make this film so outragious, nobody believes a word he says". I sat back and got a big smile and said "There is hope for you guy's yet". The final consenus was that Michael Moore is the true idiot and any democrat that embraces his movie or views is committing political suicide. Kudo's to my brothers that broke party lines and called this film a piece of trash and Moore an idiot. They will still vote for Kerry blindly but have demonstrated a sliver of common sense. I am also a union member here in SoCal, 27 years in Sheet Metal Workers' Local #105.
And like yours, my union has always leaned toward the Democratic party because they feel the Dems have supported organized labor throughout the years. I find this assumption to be both selfish and narrow minded and I voice this opinion to any member that will listen.
There are too many issues these days for groups or organizations to just automatically do what their predecessors have done.
Fortunately, some of our members will think for themselves but many will follow the union lead as they always have.
