In 1780 when Benedict Arnold betrayed his brothers in arms by attempting to turn over West Point to the British he was the foremost American hero. Even more popular than George Washington. He and Ethan Allen had captured Fort Ticonderoga, then suffered a serious leg wound while leading a charge at Saratoga.

In the darkest hours of the American Revolution he decided the war was in doubt. For the promise of high office he was willing to surrender the security of this nation to our enemies.

In Vietnam Kerry was a hero, no doubt. When he came home he went to Paris to discuss capitulation, twice. Lied about his brothers in arms.

Now, Kerry wants to surrender the security of America to France, Russia, Germany, or to all the nations of the world for the promise of high office.

Please remind the American public of the danger that Kerry represents. He has committed nothing less than treason.

Don't confuse John Kerry with Benedict Arnold.
Benedict Arnold was a genuine hero and beloved by America before he became a traitor.
Kerry was never genuine, never a hero and never beloved by America.

Comparing John Kerry to Benedict Arnold is somewhat unfair to Arnold. Both men were driven by a lust for distinction. Apparently when Arnold felt he was being short changed, he became a turncoat. Also, this happened fairly late in the revolutionary war when the Americans were largely past their "darkest hours". The unfairness to Arnold is that Arnold was a demonstrably competent military man. He was probably one of the best field commanders on the American side, particularly at the crucial battles at Saratoga. Everything I have seen about Kerry suggests that he is less than competent.
