One of the CBS panel is Danny Boy's good friend. His name is Louis Boccardi. 50% of the panel is Danny Boy's friend.

I don't know about Boccardi being Dan Rather's friend, but the other guy has been sued and embarrased by Karl Rove. No information so far on whether Rove and Thornburgh have made up since the lawsuit. Information on the story is here http://www.professorbainbridge.com

I don't know who's buddies with whom, but the bios of those two show major connections. I suspect (as do many others here) that this is a cover-up that could get as big as Watergate. We'll have to see what they produce, but it looks like big time damage control to me. Could be the kind that gets to the truth without doing more damage than necessary in an already polorized electorate (that would be the good kind -- get the guilty without a bloodbath). Or it could be the kind that is intended to bury it for good. Time will tell.

One of the guest panelists on CNBC's Capital Report , E. J. Dionne (a liberal columnist) objecting to the composition of the investigative committee by had this to say:

Quote:
It's not fair and balanced. They selected a republican and a journalist.

DUH?

Hehehe. This investigation is SeeBS's internal investigation so they can choose as they wish. But if they can't keep the lid on it, perhaps there'll be a job for the Holzers Smile

Special Prosecutors?

My fanatsy guys would have been Brit Hume and Charles Krauthammer. Although Fox guys, they both are serious newsmen, disdainful of spin and pompous prima donnas like Rather.

I vote for Ken Starr and Clarence Thomas.

Are they going to get email records and phone records?
Some mail admin needs to back up ahardrive and take it home!
I can hear those keys clicking out "Format C\ "

Is this going to be real investigation or a "white wash". What kind of investigation can it be from a network that has not even admitted the memos are forgeries yet?

Can CBS ask for a federal investigation?

CBS should call for a federal investigation. That is fair.

The Ny Times did something right when the big brass resigned over the Jason Blair affair - CBS needs to follow the standard set and the President and at least one other head needs to roll. If not Rather, I'd be very pleased if Mapes went.

THIS JUST IN........

Saddam has a new book out called "HOW TO GET ALONG WITH OTHERS".

Asking SEE B.S. to investigate themselves would be like my mom handing me the belt when I was a kid and telling me to whoop my own a$$.
