There are two kinds of statements that Kerry could make to "end" this.

1. The typical politician apology .... "I'm sorry for any pain I may have caused by my statements".

2. The kind of apology I demanded from my kids .... "I was wrong, I made an error in judgment and should have not given aid and comfort to the enemy while I was still in the Navy( he was still in the inactive reserve)".

We have yet to hear even the first but the issue will only go away with actual remission. I've heard enough "we honor your service" already from draft dodgers, guys with fake medical disabilities and [Deleted by Admin]. Sad

At this point what he needs to say is he's dropping off of the Democratic ticket and resigning from his Senate seat.

Agree. Nothing less, but I would prefer trial and incarceration, also.

Agree with all of the above.

No apology should be accepted. Only his resignation from any/all activities which could have any direct or indirect effect in any of our lives....

In the unlikely event that Kerry should ever apologize for his slanders, he should stand and face the Viet Nam memorial while doing so.

I am sorry but an apology from John Kerry is not going to help him at all. I will still feel the same way as I have over all of these year. He betrayed everyone who served and died in Vietnam and our country with his outright lies.

Mr O'Neil said it right, "is a little to late".

Apology? Too little Too Late.

I am so sorry that I got and am still getting your sons and daughters killed.

But if you elect me President I will pull our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan so that you will only have to worry about your own personnel safefty and not the safety of our soldiers. /sarcasm

No apology will fix this. It would only be another "do-anything-say-anything-to-get-elected" ploy.

How do you ask a man to say he's sorry for treason, sedition and the slander of his nation and its defenders; a slander with the goal of altering the policy of this nation to the detriment of the interests of the American people and its military services and to the advantage of its enemies in war time? How do you let that go for the price of a few hypoctital and self-serving words?
