Kerry's claim: President Bush has shattered our alliances.
"This president has left them in shatters across the globe"
Facts: Although there is a large difference of opinion on the Iraq war our alliances have hardly been shattered. For instance the French, Canadians and the Germans, who are the main allies that the senator is alluding to with this statement, all presently have troops in Afghanistan. In fact both Nato and the UN are very involved there. Nato is also presently invloved in training Iraqi troops and the UN is involved in helping to setup the Iraqi government and elections. The facts are our alliances are not shattered and saying so is irresponsible and a misstatement of the facts.
