I, too, hope that no one was hurt in the hotel attack in Baghdad. There are some correspondents that do get out and work with the troops. A couple I've caught were Jane Araf from CNN who was with the troops in Najaf and also in Samarra. She really does seem to go where the action is and not stay in Baghdad. Also, an Aussie did a report tonight on ABC; I don't remember his name but I think it was Ware. He was with a unit pushing into Samarra and taking fire. At least some of the correspondents are really doing their jobs. Unfortunately, there are a lot of them like the ones in Saigon that got their news around the hotel bar. If they don't get out of the Green Zone, no way they can know what's going on in all 18 provinces.

Yes I feel the same way. I know there are a couple of reporters that actually have the spirit of "Ernie Pyle" burning with in them. It's just I can't stand the fact that the stories we do hear from Iraq are mostly reported from the roof of the Sheraton Hotel.

They don't know what’s really going on but they sure like to make up stuff to report on! Dang it if an IED goes off and kills or injures some people then that’s "Front Page News" but our brave men and women rebuilding, renovating, getting people to staff 100% of the hospitals in Iraq is not even mentioned! We have to hear that from our troops writing home in letters or emails. Hell give me some bdu's, flack jacket, laptop and small digital camera and I’ll be happy to go and get some reporting done, and if I have to "pause" long enough to grab an AK47, RPG, a friggin brick or whatever is lying around to help pull my own weight and not be a burden just so I can tag along to get a real story out then so be it! But at least I’d get the story out because it would hit the blogs first!, live audio/video, hey Idea good idea the “helmet cam” allows you to hunt down terrorists and report at the same time!

You could call it “Target on Terror” or “Down the Sights!”

Pajama bin Bloggin reporting Live from Al Sadyr where just minutes ago there were 49 terrorists but now there are none, but don’t believe me watch the video and count them yourselves! Very Happy

Wipes forehead, sorry about the rant but I just get a little fed up sometimes Cool and have to get it off my chest.
