We had such success last week raising a little extra money for SBVT and had fun doing it. We raised over $2000 right here in this little folder.

Some people pledged $ amounts based on particular phrases. For instance, I pledged $1.00 for each time kerry said "plan" as in "I have a plan" well, luckily I didn't have 5 on that one! He said the word PLAN 32 times! It really was more tolerable to have to listen to him talk this way.

I took pledges from my mother and from my roommate as well and followed up with them to make sure they made the donation afterwards. It was good to get people that don't read these forums involved. They became more aware of how awful Kerry really is as well by paying attention more closely to what he actually said rather than the over all tone.

I propose that we do Debatathon II for tomorrow nights debate. Beginning now we can use this thread to post our pledges for specific phrases. I'd encourage you all to take pledges from neighbors and family and friends but be sure to follow up and make sure the donation gets in after the debate.

Some suggested phrases are:

200 billion
go it alone
Allies
French/France
Plan/I have a plan
this president
when I am elected
I've been consistant
mislead
truthful
consistant
as i've said before
McCain +/or dropping any military name as a supporter of his
i defended my country as a young man
Vietnam
global test
mistake
www.johnkerry.com
lost jobs
deficit
tax cut

Lets make this another $2,000 debate! I will send t-shirt transfers again to anyone who wants one if you PM me your address

BULLSHITE BINGO
construst a bingo board on paper. put one of those words or phases in each of the squares. When u bingo u can then jump up and yell "BULLSHITE" It should help keep u awake.
Now I could have put an * in the word but this one is nicer. U can yell the real word at home Evil or Very Mad

I missed last week -- but I will be brave and pledge $2.00 for every time the word WEALTHY is said. I suspect that Kerry will say it at least 10 times --- I guess I will pretend to be wealthy and hope it just does not go over 50. (I'll be generous and include when Bush says wealthy or wealth too)

Is that a pledge or a suggestion? A buck for everyone of his phoney smiles could get us to $2,000 on that one pledge alone!

Since tomorrow's debate is about domestic issues, I will pledge $1 each time Senator Kerry says "This President" and 50 cents each time he says "job" or "jobs" (sorry, I know thats low, but I expect him to say it a lot Very Happy ). Each reference to Christopher Reeve gets $10 from me to the SwiftVets as well as an equal amount to the Christopher Reeve paralysis foundation http://www.christopherreeve.org/christopherreeve/christopherreevemain.cfm

Count me in on this one. Since this debate is on domestic policy, I suspect we may not hear too many military names or allies being discussed. So I checked the transcript to see what he said during the town hall debate. Here's what I noticed:

overseas
labels
naming past presidents
naming any random politician
reference to rich/wealth/top 2%/$200,000+/people who 'look' wealthy
big companies - some named specifically (Enron, Halliburton)
celebrity name dropping (Reeve, Fox, and I'd add Nancy Reagan)
hometown folksiness (he uses examples relevant to the debate location)

Hope this helps.

I'll pledge $2 everytime he names a president, and $5 everytime he drops a 'celebrity name'. I'll double my total if he says the word wishy-washy again.

How about "the top 2% get 80% of the tax breaks" or derivations thereof.

Is someone going to keep track of this because, to be perfectly honest, I have a lot of trouble listening to that guy.

I've been monitoring this site since August and I've yet to donate and I'm ashamed of myself for I will give all of the credit in the world to this organization and it's dedication when John Kerry is defeated.

This is a perfect opportunity for me to rectify my wrong. My husband is a Halliburton employee and has been for more than 20 years. While I have every right in the world to say what I want about Halliburton, I don't even like hearing the word come out of this guy's mouth.

I pledge $10 for every time the piece of dog doo-doo utters the word Halliburton and I will pass this suggestion along to other Halliburton employees who are equally tired of hearing their reputations being sullied by this empty suit. Kerry's defeat is near -- don't give up.
