Does anybody know how many Congressmen / Senators have paid a visit to Iraq since the war started?

I'm pretty sure there have been quite a few including Hillary, but I don't think Kerry has gone.

It would seem to me that if the guy wants to take over as Commander in Chief he might want to visit the war zone, talk to the troops who he supports, and meet with the new governing body there.

I know that must sound crazy, but I'd like to see Bush challenge Kerry the next time he hears him pronounce "the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time" to go see Iraq first hand.

I think I got up too early, but the coffee sure tastes good.

I picked up this quote from a news source about a week ago. I apologize for not having the link:

According to an administration source, 233 members of Congress have visited the troops in Iraq so far. One hundred ninety-one were House members: 121 Republicans, and 70 Democrats. Forty-two were senators: 24 Republicans and 18 Dems. Eight senators have made two trips, and one has made three. Neither Kerry nor Edwards has taken time away from manicures, hairstyling appointments, and campaign stops to talk to the men and women who are putting their lives on the line in Iraq and to see the facts on the ground. That's leadership for you.

Thanks FSR,

I think at this point in this race it is time to press the issue.
If you're serious about the office of CIC during wartime,
and you're making claims such as JF'nK is that it's all wrong
and you would have done "just about everything different",
just maybe you should go take a look, get a first hand feel...
show some real interest.

I'm hoping I can push this so at least maybe Hannity will ask
somebody why Kerry hasn't visited Iraq. He can't be too busy...
hell Bush is running the country and campaigning just as hard as Kerry
who has practically shut down his Senate office.

Any ideas how best to push this onto the playing field?

If either Kerry or Edwards showed up in Iraq we would see more pictures like this: http://www.snopes.com/photos/military/crossed.asp
