I think we should strongly encourage the Swiftees and the Stolen Honor guys to not only blanket the Battleground States with Ads the next two weeks, but why not hold a few press conferences in these states and invite some of the friendlier media people to attend. This could be same format as the original announcement at the National Press Club here in D.C. last spring. What could be more powerful than O'Neil and a stage full of ex-POWs setting the record straight on "3 Scratch Kerry's" post-Vietnam activtities and the effects it had on the POWs. The Battleground States--Ohio, Pa, Minn, Wis, Iowa, Fl-- are the key if you are following the polls!!

One of the Swiftees, Gardner IIRC, in a fairly recent interview
stated that they have enough teams available to cover all the states
team = one Swiftee & one POW, availble for interviews.

The Swifts are fielding teams to any group who wants speakers.

If your VFW wants a Swifts' speaker, for instance, just contact media@swiftvets.com and tell them what you want.

There are spokesmen all over the US who are available to the press. What you see (as in the "curious incuriosity about WMD's") is what the media filters for you.

The media is stonewalling the Swifts, just as it did with their response to the very first press conference.

WE, as individuals are the best hope for getting the Swifts' message out in these last days before the election.

''hleone'' posted a letter here with ten questions for Kerry - I reposted it in the R&R section - send that out to the media in your area, to your friends and family. Or tell your own side of the story in your own words.

We can affect this election by speaking to the people who pay attention to us.

I was suggesting that they simply announce they are going to hold a press conference in these states as a way to draw the media in. My sense is that if they can convince some of the friendly media to show up with the announcement that they've got something newsworthy to tell e,g.a new ad and what's behind it , then maybe the other stooges in the not so friendly media will also show up so they are not undercut. Maybe this is a little naive but this is more pro-active than waiting for someone to call in a team to give a speech. I just wish W had used his own bully pulpit in the same way all along to get a lot of "free press". The reason I suggested the BG states is that it appears that Oh, Pa, Fl, Wis, Mo hold the key to this thing, but I'm basing this on the polls that may or may not be skewed one way or another.

I should have included this in my other post - the Swifts may well have a press conference or a series of them planned, as far as we know.

We're just here to try to keep order and focus on the board and to support their message and activities.

How much they can take advice from us on the board into consideration at this point is unknown. Time is short and they are insanely busy on the projects that they've been working on for the last few months, wrapping things up.

But, independently, we as individuals can promote them in big ways or small ways. If we work with the people within our own circles of influence, we are most likely to have a positive effect.
