I just received an email claiming to be from ebay saying I needed to update my personal information or my account would be suspended. Even if I had an ebay account I wouldn't use the email address the message came from for ebay. I have two email accounts from my ISP. I use this one for forums. The other one for business related activities.

I use the Mozilla browser and even have the email accounts under different profiles so there is no way ebay would have been sending me email to that account. Thus it has to be a fraud. The email looks authentic with the ebay logo, but I know it's not.

If you get one of these emails ignore it.

Correct it is fraud, trying to get your account info.
Also the same for Banking ones going around.

They are taking your email address from the website you made public in your profile. I would strongly suggest you edit that.

spoof@ebay.com

They'll check them out and send info to the government.

I get these supposedly from e-Bay, PayPal and various banks, including my own, which was kinda scary, all the time--

In addition to the fact that none of these types of organizations will EVER ask you to verify account information via an e-mail, the aasy-to-spot, dead giveaway that these are fraud (AKA "phishing") e-mails is that they never use your name in the salutation but rather begin with something like "Dear Valued Customer" rather than using your name (and face it, anyone you have an account with knows your name, right?)--

Never ever respond to any of these e-mails or click any link included in them--

As someone else said, spoof@ebay.com is the addy to use to forward these to e-Bay--For other entities, instructions for forwarding to the appropriate entity in their organization are usually found on their web sites--C

I get those too. I email them to spam@ebay.com

always go to www.ebay.com to type in your information .Never do it from a link in an email.
