John Kerry IS Vietnam... So when people say to you "We don't want another Vietnam, we need to reply, "No... WE do not want another John Kerry"

It is only John Kerry that makes Vietnam "Vietnam"

The terrorists and American detractors are delighted with our Democratic party's selection.

Guys, The Vietnam war was just another war, not as bloody as Korea, or World War II, maybe other wars were a better cause, and we could buy into them easier, but just another war. For all of you who served in any war, I respect you, and for those who served in Vietnam, I respect you MORE. Thanks for your sacrafice.

My last thought on this topic is:

If our economy is truely global, and we would not want to bargain with dictators tyrants, and autocrats, Whose freedom is not worth fighting for?

The Pentagon said that 36,940 troops - not 54,246 - died in the 1950-53 war (Korea),

Vietnam deaths were in excess of 58,000

It depends on your standard. Remember, the Vietnam war (for the U.S.) lasted almost three times as long as the Korean war.

I guess my standard would have to be "Dead is Dead"

Then by totals, and not totals per year, you're absolutely right.

I was thinking figuratively not even bothering to look up the numbers first. So I stand corrected... Korea has about 30% fewer deaths... COOL!
